http://www.viewpoints.com/aboutme/mayagirl Fri, 14 Dec 2007 00:04:41 GMT Reviews by mayagirl http://www.viewpoints.com/LG-Chocolate-Clamshell-VX8600-Cell-Phone-review-041c2 I purchased my Lg vx8600 about six months ago and am so pleased!  The battery life on this phone is incredible!!  I don't live on my cell, but I do use it regularly, and I consistently get two weeks on a charge.  I previously owned a little Samsung phone that I got 1-2 days on, which I used to think was decent, but this phone blows it out of the water!!  The design of this phone is attractive and sleek, and it comes with lots of fun extras that many of the other phones I looked at don't offer.  The consumer reports that I found on this phone were excellent, in fact, far better than the various Motorola phones that are so popular right now.  The only negative that I know of is that the speaker phone is supposedly too quiet.  I never use speaker phone anyway, so I cannot say that this has been an issue for me.  Overall, I would definitely recommend this phone.... Fri, 14 Dec 2007 00:04:41 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/LG-Chocolate-Clamshell-VX8600-Cell-Phone-review-041c2 mayagirl 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Hyundai-Santa-Fe-2003-review-8cf62 I purchased my Santa Fe in '05 after driving a Toyota Celica GTS for several years.  I wanted something large enough to start a family and something that was roomy.  The Santa Fe has a surprising amount of leg room for back passengers and is a comfortable ride.  I love that it comes standard with power everything, a cd player, ShiftTronic, etc.  The Santa Fe is also pretty affordable, especially if you pick up one used!  I purchased mine 2 yrs old w/ low miles for nearly half of what it costs new.  Trade in is horrible though!  My Santa Fe picks up a lot of road noise and is a pretty wussy v6 (esp. compared to my sportscar), and starts to shake when I get above 70mph.  The Santa Fe is definitely not a true sport utility vehicle, but it is safe and comforable.  Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone wanting an affordable family vehicle.... Thu, 13 Dec 2007 23:37:24 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Hyundai-Santa-Fe-2003-review-8cf62 mayagirl 4 http://www.viewpoints.com/Syntax-Olevia-537H-Television-review-d446 I hit the day after Thanksgiving sales this year and purchased the Olevia 37" HDTV.  So far, I'm pretty impressed!  The picture quality is crisp, the colors are vivid, and the sound quality is pretty good.  I've heard some complaints about Olevia's sound quality, but compared to the TV it just replaced, it sounds great!  The only complaints that I have about it is that the settings are kind of difficult to figure out.  I still haven't figured out how to use my universal cable remote or how to watch the pic-in-pic.  The instructions for this TV is on DVD, so I'm sure that whenever I actually watch the DVD I'll be able to work out the kinks.  This TV is such a bargain comparatively that I think that anyone in the market for a flatscreen HDTV should definitely look at the Olevia as an option.... Thu, 13 Dec 2007 23:10:25 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Syntax-Olevia-537H-Television-review-d446 mayagirl 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/bosch-universal-mixer-review-ef790 I absolutely love my Bosch mixer!  The Bosch has a monster of a motor and this machine is virtually indestructable.  I had never heard about the Bosch mixer until I married into a Bosch-loving family that swears by these machines.  After using one in conjuction with the KitchenAid mixer, I can see why!  The Bosch is comparably priced to the KitchenAid, but has more than twice the power of the KitchenAid model that is around the same price, the mixing bowl holds a lot more than that of the KitchenAid, and the motor runs FOREVER!  There are several hand-me-down Bosch mixers in my husband's family that are 30+ years old that run as good as my new one.  In fact, one of these 30+ yr. old machines was the one I used in conjunction w/ the new KitchenAid, and the KitchenAid was outperformed!  The only complaint that I have (which is pretty minor) is that the motor is so powerful that this machine will walk off the counter if you're not around to babysit it.  Aside from that, it's an excellent...... Thu, 13 Dec 2007 22:52:07 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/bosch-universal-mixer-review-ef790 mayagirl 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Panasonic-KX-TG1032S-Phone-review-596b This model of Panasonic phone is the second Panasonic I've purchased.  The first Panasonic I purchased developed a keypad problem shortly after the warranty ran out.  The majority of the buttons simply quit working.  Frustrated, I decided then that my next phone would NOT be a Panasonic, but my husband convinced me that Panasonic is a reputable brand and that I should give them another shot.  Now on to this current model... I've had this phone for a little over a year and now the buttons are not working!  My husband called Panasonic yesterday and the customer service rep that answered the phone said, "Now aren't you the gentleman that just called about the buttons?"  Apparently this is a common problem for Panasonic!  The Panasonic rep then went on to say that there is nothing that they will do and that maybe we should buy another brand next time.  Great customer service, eh?  I think that at over $100 a pop, these phones should hold up for over a year or two.  I will NOT......
