masteromuppets says "Catch this one on DVD" about Catch and Release

This is a love story, but not in the traditional sense of boy meets girl. More like girl meets boy, then boy's friends, looses boy, keeps the friends, then girl (and friends) meet another girl, and a smaller boy. It seems complicated, and possibly too convoluted for you to watch and enjoy, but somehow you do! It tells a love story in a slower more indirect way. The love between the characters is not instant, it's not simple, and it is definitely not what you would expect. I love Jennifer Garner in most movies because she usually plays a fun loving, and exuberant character. in Catch and Release she gets to explore new avenues of emotion and maturity. Also the male characters are funny and quite adorable at times. Kevin Smith is a big teddy bear, and Timothy Olyphant is not quite what he seems at first.

Watch this movie with someone special in your life. Chick Flicks are not JUST for chicks anymore!
...

masteromuppets says "Little girl.....Big problem!" about Hard Candy, Fullscreen Edition DVD

Hard Candy is the story of a teenage girl and her apparent naivete when it comes to older (only slightly) men. She plays up her role as a quiet, and shy waif, but this little girl has got big plans! It is a superb example of acting skills on both the teen predator, and the adult victim's part. For a large majority of the film, you only see the two of them, and so the focus is firmly on the plot, and it's development, not all of the peripheral characters.

You will walk away from this movie with a feeling of shock and awe, but also a feeling of satisfaction, and dismay.

...
