mandita says "A great, inexpensive alternative to the pricey slings out there." about Moby Wrap

I've been very happy with this sling. I really wanted to wear my baby as much as possible, but was put off by how expensive a lot of the slings out there are. This one was really affordable and has turned out to be great. It is easy to use and as my daughter has grown, it easily converts to different holds that suit her. It is also great for nursing and for travel. We are going to try it out for a hike this weekend. It is very simple and plain, which is actually nice because it really matches anything you are wearing. It would be fun if it came in more patterns, but there are a variety of colors available. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to keep their baby close, but doesn't want to pay an outrageous price for something more trendy....

mandita says "This thing is so cool!" about Summer Infant Handheld Color Video Monitor

This is probably the single best item we purchased when our daughter was born. My husband is a film and television editor, so he insisted on a video monitor. Even he is very satisfied with the image quality. The coolest thing is that we can hook it into our television, so when she goes to sleep, we can watch tv and keep her on picture in picture on the top corner of our screen. It also allows us to check her breathing and sleep position without walking in the room and potentially disturbing her. Now that she is sleeping through the night, when I wake up at 3am and wonder if she's okay, I can check on her without having to leave my bed! Definitely worth the money and great technology to have....

mandita says "Easy to get in and out of, for those 3am diaper changes." about Gerber Zip Front Sleep 'n Play

These are great sleepers! The zipper makes them so easy to get baby in and out of, instead of those damn snaps! Who in the world can snap those things with a kicking baby in the middle of the night. The zipper is quick and easy. Our daughter looks SO adorable in them. They come in really cute patterns and colors. The are footed, for extra warmth, and the cotton fabric is soft and comfy, but not too hot. We like them so much, after she grew out of the 0-3 month size, we ordered two 3-packs of the 3-6 month size. Now we just bought th 6-9 month size! Highly recommended....

mandita says "We like it, but it could be better" about Zooper Kroozer 4WD Baby Stroller

All in all, we've been fairly happy with the Zooper. It is easy to expand and collapse. Our carseat fit perfectly in it when our baby was a newborn. It also reclines fully so newborns can ride in it without the carseat The sun shade feature is really cool. And if we lived in a rainy climate, I'm sure we'd love the rain shade as well. I have two major complaints. The first is that the shade doesn't slide forward and back, so you basically can't see your baby when you are walking. You can unzip the back for more ventilation, which is nice, but you still can't see your baby unless it is fully reclined. I've also noticed that other strollers seem to support babies better. Our daughter is all slumped over because the back rest doesn't really cradle her. There is no side support to help keep her upright. She's already six months and can sit up on her own, but is still all slumpy in this seat. We like the colors available though, and it comes with lots of pockets and...
...

mandita says "Everyone said Britax was the safest and they were right." about Britax Companion Car Seat

We asked around a lot before buying our carseat and everyone we trusted said Britax was the best. Then at the store, the salesperson basically said the same thing, even though other models were more expensive. We've been very happy with it. Our daughter doesn't really like being in her carseat, but then again a lot of babies don't. She's not one to be confined (never liked being swaddled, etc.). But as far as safety is concerned, we feel very confident about it. If installed well, it basically won't move. We've borrowed other carseats while travelling and just didn't feel as confident about them. They didn't seem to fit as securely in the back seat and didn't have all the safety features of the Britax. I really like the fact that the shade can detatch from the back and slide forward. It makes it much easier for me to reach back there and soothe my daughter if necessary, especially since she is still rear-facing. It is also good on hot days, because it allows the air......
