mamalern says " A little pricey, but great dog food." about Nutro Natural Choice Indoor Formula Dry Food

I bought this food for my dog because, as a puppy, he was prone to digestive problems. This food cleared up his stomach aches (he no longer whined after eating) and significantly reduced the number of bowel movements he was having with the lower quality food. I also noticed that he had more energy and a shinier coat. It is NOT cheap, however- so be prepared to spend more if you decide to switch to Nutro....

mamalern says "Best rubber dog toy on the market." about Kong Dog Toy

My dog loves to chew- He's a large breed animal and tears apart every dog toy that I have given him since he's been a puppy- except for the Kong. It's just about indestructible and the fact that it's hollow keeps him busy for hours if I place a kong treat in there.
However- a far greater testament to this toy's durability is how I was introduced to the Kong. I was working at a primate center and this was the only rubber toy approved for the monkeys- it's strong, great on the animal's teeth, and easy to clean. I would definitely recommend this for any dog. As a side note, however, puppy kongs should be kept away from adult dogs- I did notice tearing and shredding of puppy kongs with my adult dog, but that's to be expected. Overall, five stars.
...

mamalern says "Very nice luxury for a less-than-luxury price" about Acura TL - 2006

I just purchased a used Acura TL (2006 model). I was looking for a car that was more luxurious than my previous sedan, but was afraid of the high prices normally associated with luxury cars. The Acura TL was a great buy, it was a certified used car with only 30,000 miles on it. There is a slight amount of road noise that you wouldn't hear in a Lexus or Volvo, but overall it is definitely a high class of vehicle. The gas mileage is average- it's not outrageously high or low. I would definitely recommend this vehicle to someone who is looking for a car that's a little higher class than say, a Civic, but not quite as pricey or luxurious as a Lexus. ...

mamalern says "Great scale- definitely get your money's worth." about Health O Meter Physician Balance Beam Scale

I have stepped on a scale every morning since high school and have tested a LOT of scales. I've had the normal, non-digital scales that give iffy results- The digital scales that just give you a weight reading and those that give you everything from weight to water % to fat % and tells you whether or not you gained or lost weight since the last time you stepped on it...The problem with these is that the springs wear down and the scale has to be re-calibrated often or you just have to remember that it's a few pounds off. The good thing about this medical scale is that there ARE no springs to wear down, so it's consistently accurate in it's readings. It does take up a bit of space, however, and it's a little pricey, but overall I think it was worth the money. This scale has lasted longer than any other that I've owned and in that amount of time I may have had two or three digital scales, which would have probably equaled the same price altogether as the medical scale. This is......

mamalern says "Mid-quality camera, but excellent for everyday, generic use." about Canon - PowerShot A550 digital camera

I recently switched to the Canon Powershot A550 when my last camera (not a digital camera) was destroyed due to water damage. I take a lot of outdoor shots of wild birds and other wildlife as a hobby and I have to say that I got clearer shots with my last camera! However, the powershot A550 is far superior for family portraits, close-ups, and other such shots that the average family person would use this camera for. Overall, I like this camera- but if you are looking to do more nature photography, this is not for you. Canon does make a better camera for nature shots, but it's somewhere in the $1000 range- so this will have to do for me for now! ...
