According to the box I would never have to replace the filter. When I got it home I discovered it had 2 filters. One I would have to replace, the other I would not.  I guess Ionic Breeze was the one I really wanted.... I can tell you I would recommend this for anyone. It has already saved me money. I have it in my living room and my wall furnace doesnt come on at all, until it gets really cold outside. On our coldest night which was around 20 degrees my wall furnace only came on twice instead 4-6 times. I have older windows so this Pelinis oil filled radiator heater really saves me money.
