Verdi Spumante has flavor a bit like Dom Perignon with a sweaty aftertaste. Good for a cheap date at six or seven bucks but watch out for the hangover... owww!
...

madgolfer says "Wanna get Some?" about Patron Silver Tequila

Simply the best, Patron Silver is the hole in one of tequilas. A clear crisp "green tequila" with no oak barrel aftertaste that leaves the scent of jack daniels, scotch or wine as an aged Anejo or Reposado tequila does. Pure Blue Agave and worth the fifty bucks, which should keep you from getting hooked on the stuff.

Best served out of the freezer in double shots with salt and a pink grapefruit slice chaser to prevent hangovers. Del Monte jarred grapefruit will do in the off-season. It will make your clothes fall off. Senoras, por favor?
...

madgolfer says "Short and Spicy" about Pats Peak - Pats Peak Ski Area - Henniker, NH

"Gnarly little knob", I thought on the first lift to the summit. Admittedly, I came because of a free pass, but I left feeling ... gratified. Decent skiing, good food and roughly a 1 hour drive.

The problem with Big Mountain skiing is driving time and "skiing time", but PATS PEAK short steep is perfect for fifty-something legs to get up and down all night long. There are also carpet-lift beginner areas and cruiser trails down from the summit on both the far left and far right, but I came for the "Double Black Diamond" center cuts and tree glades which are perfect this season. Not a bit of ice, excellent lighting and hardly any skiers on a weekday night within 90 minutes of Boston.

For prices, hours etc: PATSPEAK.COM

Spring Update:Pats Peak closes next Sunday, the end of March, but still offered up good Spring conditions yesterday with discounted tickets.
...

madgolfer says "Another "hole in one"" about Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Pads

Sneak one away from the sink when the wife's not looking. Magic Eraser brings the spikes back like brand new, and those ball marks on the wall in the living room from chipping practice? Like a fresh coat of paint in a sponge. Easy par 3 Ace! ...

madgolfer says "Not for Toast" about Black and Decker Toaster Oven - Classic Toast-R-Oven

For toast, buy a toaster. For reheating leftover or frozen pizza, buy a B&D toaster oven. Works better than a microwave for crisping and is obviously more efficient than a conventional oven. Use tinfoil on the little broiler pan to keep it clean.

Hardly safe for children and other living things, with all kinds of potential for burnt fingers and they really should remove that "Stay On" position, or at least put it past the 30 minute timer limit and not below the Off position where it currently is located on the dial.

A hazardous par 3 with a hot putt at the end.
...

madgolfer says "Why Spend a Fortune?" about Kenmore Quick Clean Vacuum

The Kenmore Quickclean Upright Vacuum has replaced our top of the line, expensive canister vac that was only a few years old, required regular hair strand removal, overhauls and replacement bags.

This upright sweeper never needs bags and the filter is easy to clean by placing it inside a plastic shopping bag and tapping it on a hard surface to shake the dirt loose. Then pour the dirt cup into the bag and dispose in the garbage. Easy access to the carry on tools for dusting and furniture, tho if the hose was a foot longer, the wand and crevice tool could reach the ceiling. Has the standard features like a headlight and quick release cord coiler.

Haven't had to remove the beater brush once. After a year it still works great and hasn't cost a penny more than the fifty or sixty dollar purchase price.

Gets an Eagle rating and at a public course price.
...

madgolfer says "Tea'd Up with Arizona" about Arizona - Green Tea With Honey and Ginseng

Drink a gallon of Arizona Honey and Ginseng tea each week for a good dose of delicious anti-oxidants....because it tastes great on ice and goes with everything. And the cans are only a buck at any quik-mart, cheaper than soda. Also love the sweet tea, black & white and of course Arnold Palmer's Tea and Lemonade, in fact, all the Arizona teas are aces, well maybe the diets are birdies....
