maci42 says "Heartwarming and uplifting...You go, August!" about August Rush

I had read reviews saying the movie was too sweet. It was, but it was a nice, happy film to watch. The characters were just a bit unbelievable. As it seemed a "twist" on Oliver Twist it was a good story of triumph in the face of big odds.

If you want to see a movie with a story and a "feel good" ending this is it. Have fun and enjoy!...

maci42 says "Wow, what a difference a satelitte makes!" about DIRECTV

I am so glad i moved from cable to satellite. Time-Warner was all about the money. Service was not a high priority.

The picture with cable was so bad that I thought I needed new TVs. Fortunately I changed to Direct-TV before making that decision. Wow...the picture is super clear and bright! My wife and I both commented on the renewed clarity as soon as we started watching Direct-TV. What a difference!

Direct-TV certainly gets my vote and my money......

maci42 says "Whew..." about Beowulf (2007)

PG-13? I don't understand how all that violence and simulated and clearly true nudity could translate into PG-13. I guess I missed something over the years as to what that rating means.

The story was interesting although I don't remember much from reading it as senior in high school (days long gone by). I'm certain the written story was not as interesting as the movie. Perhaps younger viewers will find a desire to read the story after they see the movie.

Fun movie to watch.

...

maci42 says "They are "all over!" about AT&T (formerly Cingular)

We started with At&T in 1999. Service was OK, but nothing special. Cingular changed all that with no roaming charges and rollover minutes. Mobile to mobile helped too! I think about changing to Verizon...great commercials, but hate to give up rollover minutes. Someday I might actually need them. Will probably stay with AT&T....
