lovestoread says "This book was very suspenseful and kept me guessing. " about Twisted

This latest book by Andrea Kane is a winner. I have read several of her previous books and liked them also. This book grabbed your attention and kept you reading. This book brings together former FBI agent Sloane Burbank and current FBI agent Derek Parker. These two had been romantically involved in the past but had broken up over some unresolved issued. When they are thrown together to find a serial killer sparks fly at first but they come to an understanding so they can work together. In the end Sloane almost gets killed by the serial killer but manages to kill him right before the para troopers arrive to rescue everyone. Some of the women that had been kidnapped and presumed dead were still alive but were moments away from all being killed. And the serial killer turns out to be one of the people that you really do not suspect....

lovestoread says "I was really disappointed in this book." about The Front

I usually eagerly wait for any new book by Patricia Cornwell and read it as soon as it is available. This book I did not like very much. First it was very short- just a novella, the plot was disjointed, and there was not much a sense of suspence building. I was not compelled to keep reading like I usually do with a good mystery book. The characters were okay but I think they would have been better with more depth. Most of Cornwell's books feature Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a former coroner that help to solve forensic mysteries and she should stick to those as far as I am concerned....

lovestoread says "I was disappointed in this book." about Another thing to fall

I was disappointed with this book because it just did not engage my interest. This novel was not as good as other novels by Laura Lippman, and I have read quite a few of them over the years. I guess this was the 10th novel with Tess Monaghan as a private investigator. Tess stumbles onto a set for a TV show that is being filmed in Baltimore and then is hired to investigate some incidents that have been disrupting the set. There is some concern that the star of the show may being stalked and Tess is hired to be her body guard. After several incidents and two murders Tess finally gets to the bottom of the whole mess....

lovestoread says "A little slow starting, page turner by the end." about The Wrong Hostage

This book was a little slow starting at first but by the end the suspence had built up quite a bit and kept me reading. Elizabeth Lowell writes a lot of romantice suspense novels and this is up to her usual standards. Grace Silva's son is kidnapped and held captive in Mexico and she hires Jo Faroe, a retired kidnap specialist that was once involved with Grace. They have a short time to arrange for his release, but he is held by a drug lord who wants millions of dollars returned to him stolen by Graces's exhusband Ted. If they are unable to to do that Grace's son will be killed. And of course Grace and Joe can not find Ted. This book details what all they have to go through to be able to free Grace's son alive. The romantic part of the book is the growing relationship between Joe and Grace....

lovestoread says "One of her best books yet." about Charley's Web

I have been a fan of Joy Fielding for years and have read all of her books. She always writes books with strong characters and intriguing story lines. The plot twists at the end of this book were shocking and surprising. I did not even come close to guessing who the bad guys really were. The main character, Charley, decides to write a book about a woman who was convicted of killing three children and in the process finds out a lot about herself. She also puts her family in danger from an unknown source....

I have been reading Janet Evanovich's books featuring Stephanie as a bond's agent for years and love every single one. They are always entertaining and hilarious. I especially like her Grandma. Her books are also very imaginative and keep you reading....

lovestoread says "This book kept me reading like mad to see what happens. " about The Dark Tide

This book grabbed my attention from the first page and kept me reading until the end. The storyline was interesting and there was a lot of suspense in finding out what would happen next. Also the romantic side of the story added a nice touch even though this part of the story line was predictable....

lovestoread says "Keeps your interest for the most part." about virgin river

I usually read only mysteries but I did get a hold of this book by Robyn Carr. This book is a romance book and for the most part kept me interested. However since I usually read mysteries this book did not have quite the suspense factor that I usually look for in a book. The ending was predictable but the book was a pleasant read anyhow....

lovestoread says "Another winner- I have enjoyed all of the recent books by Robb." about Strangers in Death

Another winner by J D Robb (also Nora Roberts). I did not like her earliest books in this series but the last few have been very good. They are very suspenseful and keep you reading right up to the end so you can find out what happens. I also enjoy the dynamics between Eve and her husband and the characterization of the other characters are good also....

lovestoread says "An unusual book by Sara Paretsky" about Sara Paretsky - Bleeding Kansas

I was disappointed when I started this book and it was not one of her mysteries featuring V. I. Warshawski. I loved every book written about her. This book was a little slow going when I started but when I got into it I got into the book a lot more. It is an unusual book set in Kansas and you will not believe all of the weird characters that live there and what happens to them. Enough- you will have to read the book to find out more....
