lorim41 says "Make memories that last a lifetime!" about Holiday Traditions Opinion

Holiday traditions. What makes the holidays memorable for you? Sipping champagne on New Years? Valentine's for all of your family members? A big pot of beef stew for St. Patrick's Day? Whatever the tradition, this is what your children will remember from their childhood and take on into their own families. This can be, but does not have to be complicated in marriages with mixed cultures or beliefs. If you discuss before your married what your traditions are, you can combine, toss out, or refine traditions so that both sides of the family can be honored. Getting the kids involved makes holidays much more memorable for us as well as kids will say and do some of the funniest things, especially around the holidays. So have fun, be happy and make many memorable moments together celebrating holiday traditions passed down from generation to...

lorim41 says "MySpace is the devils handiwork" about MySpace.com

I believe that MySpace is a very bad website. It has been riddled with problems, not the least of which in my opinion, is young kids being on the website. It is too easy for kids to lie about their age and then get exposed to content that they have no business being exposed too. I also believe that it is a harvesting ground for sexual predators. They look for the kids pictures and pretent to be a friend and take advantage of these kids. I personally have several friends who know their younger kids have a MySpace page with photos and all and still allow it. Parents ARE YOU CRAZY!!!! When your young preteen or teen daughters especially, look older than they really are because of their rapidly developing bodies, why would you allow them to 1. have a page and 2. put photos of them in bathing suits that cover less than their regular undergarments? You are just asking for someone to lure them into a situation that can cause them harm or worse... There are to many pages for MySpace to keep...

lorim41 says "Used to be the best thing going" about Walmart

They just built a Super WalMart Center where I live. The community surrounding this store is mostly senior citizens who ride in golf carts instead of driving cars or walking. The store that this Super Center replaced allowed the golf carts, but this new store does not. I believe that WalMart should have kept things the way they were, because now several of the senior citizens can not get to their store because either they don't own cars or can not walk that far. This was a huge diservice to the senior citizens of the community, especially since they have a parking lot that is more than sufficient to accomodate special parking for the golf carts. And to add insult to injury, they don't have enough associates so the lines are always too long, the people tend to be rude and the store always has too much merchandise in the aisles so that sometimes even a single cart can not get through. They have also raised their prices in this walmart and it is no longer cost-effective to me to shop for...

lorim41 says "God makes a good marriage" about Marriage Advice

What makes a good marriage is several things, but the most important is that you are both born again and the man is at a higher spiritual level than the woman. God created the husband to be in authority over the household and the wife to be submissive to the husband. This is beacaue God gives the man the vision for the family. It is also very important for both parties to have similar ideas about God, sex, raising kids, and finances just to name a few. Opposites may attract, but two people who are like minded and have the same vision will be much more happy and successful. The couple should talk and pray together daily. They should listen to one another and encourage one another. If they disagree, they shold resolve the conflict early on so that strife can not enter in and cause division, never go to be angry at one another. Next, it is very important for the couple to date each other at least once a week, no kids along, to keep the love strong between them. Finally, but equally...

lorim41 says "A great place to earn rewards just for being me!" about MyPoints

Since I began with MyPoints about 2 years ago, I have had many great rewards just for buying things I would normally buy and doing things I would normally do! It's GREAT! I joined just to try it out, bit almost monthly now I am redeeming my points for great rewards! I especially enjoy the Starbucks and dinner cards and share them with my family or give them as birthday gifts! I also love being rewarded for trying new things that I might not otherwise try. This is by far in the top five of my favorite...
