lonelycheese15 says "Just as good, if not better, than the pricey salon shampoos." about Herbal Essences Body Envy

Like every woman, I often find myself hating my hair. It’s so fine that nothing can be done with it. It won’t hold a curl, even it I get it permed! It’s too dark, it’s too light. It won’t cooperate. I hate the cut. Yadda-yadda-yadda. One thing I’ve learned, though, is that your hair reflects the products you use. I have tried all kinds of different products – both from the shelf and from the hair salon. While some of those hair salon products are damn good, they’re also damn expensive (I also can never remember the strange names of the couple I’ve used). Some “over-the-counter” (if I may call them that) shampoos are great at first, but after a week I find my hair goopy and lifeless. One product that has always worked for me, though, is Herbal Essences Body Envy collection. I love it! It smells nice, it comes in two nice sizes (small or huge – you don’t need a middle ground when it comes to decent shampoo), it makes me hair look and...
...

lonelycheese15 says "Maybelline always comes through for me." about Maybelline The Colossal VOLUM EXPRESS mascara

Growing up, I was a HUGE tomboy. I wore my brother's clothes, I played video games (and still do), my dressiest shoes lit up when I walked, and I was frequently caked in dirt. When I was seventeen, I sort of (but not completely) grew out of that stage and started wearing girl clothes and make-up. So I'm not as experienced as many girls are when it comes to make-up and finding the right products. However, I have one thing to say: I love Maybelline mascara.

Not only does Maybelline last on lashes, but it lasts in the tube. I have had my Maybelline Colossal Volume Express mascara for over a year now and it still works like it did when I first got it. Every other brand I've used lasts about two or three months before it dries out or the brush gets worn. But not Maybelline! Every use looks just as fresh and new as the very first one (even the tube itself looks brand new - this is quality stuff!).

The only fault I found with this product was the tube "malfunction." However,...
...

I’m a little rusty on writing, as I haven’t done it in a while. Hopefully this review will be sufficient anyway.

Quentin Tarantino has done it again. For all you Tarantino fans, you have to see Inglourious Basterds. If you’re into history you’ll also like it, though not because any of it is true (OK…so Hitler did exist, but that’s about as close to the truth as this movie gets). This is where knowledge counts – the more you know about the Nazis and the Holocaust, the more you will enjoy this movie. Plus, you get to witness the Nazis getting their asses handed to them. Who wouldn’t enjoy that?

lonelycheese15 says "Long, but fantastic." about Watchmen

I actually meant to write this review two months ago, but here it is anyway.

I finally read Alan Moore's Watchmen this past winter and thought it was fantastic. And then I found out that the movie would be coming out soon. So over Spring break, I went to see it. It was pretty much wonderful.

The actors seemed so perfect for the parts they played. I personally thought they looked just like the book characters, but so far I haven't found too many people who agree with me on that.

I was very impressed by Rorschach's mask. I have to say, I was really wondering how they planned to do that, and it worked very well. I was pleased. I was also pleased to see that they left in Rorschach's chronic disjointed journal entries. As the story went along, he systematically left out articles (a, an, and the).

I also loved that they deleted the story that the kid was reading in the comic book. It was just a parallel to what was going on with the Watchmen characters and...
...

lonelycheese15 says "Despite some flaws in the plot, it was a fantastic movie!" about X-Men Origins: Wolverine

My boyfriend called me yesterday and asked if he could come into town and see me, because he really wanted to see this new Wolverine movie with me. So he showed up and we went to the cinema and got our tickets. We sat down and the previews started, which was great. I love the previews. My only problem with them is that they get me so excited for the movies that they’re previewing that I forget what movie I am actually there to see…and then when I remember what it is, I’m disappointed, because I wanted to see the movie in the previews. This was the case with X-Men, also. For about two seconds.

As soon as the movie started, I felt a wave of disappointment, and then interest, and then…”Holy God.” I was sucked into the movie even during the credits. It was fantastic. There was plenty of action, lots of interesting back-story (of course), lots of Hugh Jackman (which was the biggest reason I wanted to see the movie), and you just can’t beat comic book movie...
...

My roommate is a dental hygiene major, which is great. I get my teeth cleaned for five dollars and I get expensive products for less than half the store price. There is not much I have to complain about having a dental hygiene major as a roommate. A couple months ago, this same roommate introduced me to Crest Whitestrips Surpreme. I am familiar with the regular version, but these were something different. They are about seven times as strong as the regular Crest Whitestrips, which can be good and bad at the same time.

I had been previously warned by both roommates about the pain that these strips can create. The back of the box said to use them twice a day for thirty minutes. After using them just once, both roommates were in so much pain the next day that they couldn’t eat. I managed to avoid this by buying a tube of Sensodyne toothpaste and using that for a week before beginning the whitening treatment. Once my roommates did the same thing, the pain was no longer...
...

lonelycheese15 says "Not gory, so not bad." about Prom Night

My dad and I enjoy horror movies, particularly the older ones, before they turned into blood baths with the soul purpose of making the viewer sick. So the other night, we sat down and watched the recent version of Prom Night (which is actually not a remake).

The movie was pretty good. I loved that it wasn't gory. Let’s face it, there is nothing a director can do that is more obnoxious than adding a lot of blood and gore to a movie to cover up the fact that the plot sucks. Okay…there are a few things more obnoxious, but that at least makes the top ten. I also loved that the director stuck to the traditional slasher weapon (guns are so passive aggressive, real men use knives), instead of going all Saw on us.

The only thing I didn't like is what I hate about all horror movies: stupid people making a large series of stupid mistakes. At the beginning of prom, I could name off everyone who would die and reasons why they would die, but after seeing so many horror movies,...
...

lonelycheese15 says "Very frustrating with certain things, but useful nontheless." about JASC Paint Shop Pro 8.0

I love editing and making pictures in the JASC Paint Shop Pro programs. I used to use Paint Shop Pro 7, but switched to Paint Shop Pro 8 after a good friend of mine recommended it. At first, I loved the program. I was able to organize better and do more. The program looked nicer and I was able to put all of my toolbars over to one of the sides and off my work area. It has a somewhat user-friendly interface and an easy-to-use help section, not that I needed it too often, since the program was relatively easy-to-use on its own.

I have noticed a few problems, though. For instance, when I try to use a brush, it never ends up where I want. If I center the brush and then click, it ends up about twenty pixels to the left or something. It’s quite frustrating, and it’s times like that where I’m so glad I know the keyboard shortcut for “undo” (CTRL+Z) – if I didn’t, it would take me twice as long to fix.

Some things are difficult to find now. In PSP7, there...
...

I have had The Sims 2 since my senior year of high school. I am now a junior in college and I am STILL absolutely addicted to this game! The reason I'm writing this review four years after it's release is 1) because I just recently found this website, and 2) because EA Games will be releasing The Sims 3 this year!

Now, I am not a video game addict all year round. I am a seasonal addict. I start playing mildly in the winter and then go hardcore in the spring months, stopping in the beginning of summer, and then playing hardcore again in late-July until mid-August. Since it is now winter, I am blossoming into my addiction, which generally starts with The Sims 2.

I played the game before it and was not too impressed. All you could do was choose from one of twenty (I’m guessing…I don’t actually know how few there were) Sims designs for your character, one of the same number of outfits (and you couldn’t mix and match, it was just one outfit), and one straight design, boring...
...

I found The Haunted Airman by accident while watching random YouTube videos. I found a music video for the song "Lost" by Noir Desir (the artist of the song, not the video), which had clips from Robert Pattinson's movies, including The Haunted Airman. After doing some research, I found that it was a BBC movie and that it did not exist on DVD (at least, no where I have been able to find it), so I was forced to watch it on YouTube (and then I bought the book it was based on, The Haunting of Toby Jugg by Dennis Wheatley). It has since been removed, much to my displeasure, as I really liked this movie.
The movie takes place during World War II. It begins with Toby (Robert Pattinson), who finds himself paralyzed after an air raid on an enemy city goes wrong. His lover and aunt (by marriage), Julia (Rachael Stirling), takes him to a rehabilitation center to mentally and physically recover, though he is adamant that he would rather recover at home where he can be with Julia. He...
...

Like most in my age group, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. So when a good friend of mine told me about the Twilight series, I had to read it. I enjoyed the book, though not at first. It took me a while to get past Stephenie Myers' writing style, but I finished the whole series in two weeks' time. When I heard that a movie was coming out based on the first novel, a month after I'd heard about the books, I was ecstatic. Something for me to do while I await the next Harry Potter film!

I waited a couple weeks for the fanatic crowd to make their rounds before I went to see the movie. I don't know about everyone else, but I can't stand sitting next to someone who is 1) dressed up in fan attire, and 2) likes to sit and immediately point and say, "That is nothing like the book." Save those comments for after the movie, thank you. Which is what I have done. And now, two or three months later so that everyone who wanted to see the movie did, I am ready to write about it.

At first,...
...
