lokimotion says "Fully Sustainable Sustenance " about Terrene - St. Louis, MO

I was amazed that this Sustainable restaurant was right in my backyard. I mean, WOW!

Terrene offered a unique dining experience with dishes that prepared by an award winning chef, coupled with the restaurants award winning wine list.

I enjoyed the have price drink specials for happy hour and then decided to also enjoy dinner on the patio. My friends and I shared two orders of the house Frites along with Red Wine. We then were delighted by the flavor of the chicken, pork, and seafood; which we each ordered and shared across the table (family style).

I would recommend this to anyone in St. Louis, along with visits to the gateway city. This restaurant is fully sustaniable, which means they are able to create their whole menu from local food sources. The is commendable in itself.
...

lokimotion says "Fantastic Read...Now only if they still operated in such fashion" about Pour Your Heart into It: How Starbucks Build a Company One Cup at a Time

This is a great literary pick if you enjoy "before they were stars (or Starbucks)." The practices that Howard Schultz lists in his book are imaginative and basic. I would speculate that if these practices to business were still in use; maybe the company would not be headed out. Human Resources for the company seldom hires individuals outside of Seattle. In the book Howard talks about surrounding one's self with the best in the buisness. I feel sorry for all the current baristas that are pouring their hearts into their work...only to find out that since they are not locals they can not attain corporate status.

Thank Goodness Starbuck's bean cultivation practices do not mirror their corporate hiring practices. If all the beans came from one location, the consumer experience would not be as enjoyable.
...

lokimotion says "Starbucks piles on more seasonal poundage" about Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin

Starbucks is now using a new preservative which allows Starbucks retail outlets to now keep the pumpkin cream cheese muffins for 2 days (if they are not sold). Hmmm. When was the last time you were hunger for 2-day old pseudo cream cheese. This muffin for breakfast will fill your processed sugars and grains quota for the rest of the day. Sorry, that means no dessert this holiday....
