lissalush says "decent products, not so fun to shop at" about Michaels Arts and Crafts

Michael's is...ok. I always have a hard time finding what I am looking for, and if you need help, forget it. There's never anyone asking to help you or if you do find someone, they have no idea what you are talking about. Their return policy is crazy, and the ever present 40% off coupon is a total joke.

I'm an avid crafter, but having to deal with places like Michael's, where almost everything is made in China and/or of poor quality, has made me change my total outlook on crafting. Now I try and use as many recycled and vintage items as possible. Places like Michael's have made it impossible for the hobbyist crafter to create anything unique, and they have put mom and pop craft stores out of business. I miss the old days of finding out of the way bead shops and getting something totally unavailable...at Michaels. It's certainly not like that now!...

lissalush says "My favorite beer ever!" about New Belgium Fat Tire

I really wish that I cold buy Fat Tire in Ohio! It's only available west of the Mississippi river, and I live in Ohio. I discovered this beer from tailgating in concert parking lots, from friends who had brought it literally "over the river." If gas wasn't so expensive, we'd go over the river ourselves to buy some!

I am not sure I can convey how good this beer is. Maybe it's because I only get to have it a couple of times a year if that, but it tastes like no other. It has a somewhat fruity taste, but it's not sweet. For example, I think Newcastle is sweet...and I don't like Newcastle. It's really just not like anything else out there, and you really just have to try it for yourself....

lissalush says "Best Broccoli Ever!" about Trader Joe's Organic Frozen Broccoli

I love broccoli, but until I found the Trader Joe's
organic variety, I hadn't found any frozen varieties
that were so full of actual florets. Their
non-organic kind is almost as good,
but the color is better with this broccoli. It's a really
good value for the money, I believe it is $1.79 here in Ohio....

lissalush says "Best gaming system ever!" about Nintendo Wii Console

This is a gaming system that everyone can enjoy!
We had a really hard time tracking one down
but I am really glad we finally found one.
If anyone has any doubts about what type
of system to buy, this is the one.
The Wii Sports game that comes with it
is so much fun! It's also a great workout!
One of the reasons that I like this system
so much is that it is so interactive and
different. Watch out, though, it's very addicitve!...

lissalush says "The best place to shop this holiday!" about Etsy.com

Etsy is the place where I will be doing about 75% of my holiday shopping this year.
Etsy is known as the place to buy and sell handmade,
but there are also great vintage items and supplies
for your favorite crafty giftgiving needs.
The customer service is top notch,
and this is a site where the shopper
is supporting small businesses
while at the same time buying gifts
that are unique and sure to please....
