lissabug says "The real deal - this stuff works!" about Secret Clinical Strength Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

I've always been a sweaty girl, but since having issues with my hormones, the problem has only worsened. Love those hot-flashes! — I've tried so many different deodorants over the years and I've got to say that Secret really has made a winner with their "clinical strength" line. It works great, doesn't smell overpowering, and it doesn't need to be reapplied throughout the day. — One thing to note - the directions actually tell you to use this stuff at night, and not to apply it in the morning as you would 'normal' deodorant. I bucked that advice and used it as I would any other stick of deodorant and it's worked like a charm. —...

lissabug says "Beats the pants off of Play-Doh" about Spinmaster Moon Sand Press 'n Play Neighborhood

Okay, I admit it - Moon Sand wasn't on my daughter's wish list.... it was on mine! When she got it for her third birthday, we had SO much fun playing with it. The stuff lives up to the hype. It doesn't dry out, it molds beautifully and smoothly, and it's FUN! — Yes, the little bits of sand can easily get tracked all over the place and it's not as easy to clean up as play-doh is... but it's SO much more fun to mold and when we forgot to put the 'princess' back into the bag, she wasn't all dried out when we found her the next day. — Play with it on a table, stay away from carpet, and you'll be all set. It's like the world's greatest beach sand - soft and silky, the perfect consistency, and in fun colors. — The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is for the clean up factor. The little granules can get all over the place, but I learned that it's a table toy and not a carpet toy. Problem solved. —...

lissabug says "Love the options for seating and straps - but hard to clean!" about Evenflo Triumph 5 Car Seat

We have this carseat in both of our vehicles and we love it. We've had it since our (now 3 year old) daughter was about 6 months old and we couldn't be happier. It's got a great 3 stage recline for when baby is rear facing, and it sits up nice and tall for when they switch to front facing. — The best part? The strap adjustment. The way that the straps adjust is phenomenal and it keeps you from having to bend back baby's arms in order to get them in behind the straps of the harness. These straps loosen and then re-tighten with the turn of a knob after baby is in and situated. The knob clicks and you can tighten the straps much more snugly than you can in many other models. — The one and only complaint I have about this model is that you have to completely unscrew the back of it in order to get the cover off of the carseat. Talk about a pain! We recently had a car/vomit situation that was NOT pretty, and my poor husband had to completely dismantle the entire...

lissabug says "Just another informercial scam" about Proactiv Solution

I hate to say it, but ProActive just didn't do it for me... it was a sad informercial regret in my acne-fighting past. — I felt that the cleanser and the toner were both too mild for the kind of acne that I face (deep in my pores, often under the skin and very red). My face felt good and it did make my skin smoother, but the under-surface zits were still there, just as angry as ever. — My personal opinion is that if you wash and treat your face everynight that you shouldn't need something like ProActive. I think that the reason that ProActive works so well for so many people is because it forces them into good skin habits. Truthfully if we followed the same steps with any multitude of acne treatments, our skin would get clearer. Part of the trick is just getting to that sink and washing and treating your face... once you do that, the product doesn't matter as much as your clean skin does. —...

lissabug says "A great show with a disappointing early end" about Firefly - The Complete Series

First, let me preface this review by telling you that I am not a sci-fi lover... I just happened to marry one. — My husband bought the complete series of Firefly when it came out on DVD and promptly watched the entire thing straight through - with me sitting in on a good portion of the episodes. After one, I was hooked. The storyline is a tad hard to follow at first (eh, are we in the future? the past? what's with the western gear and spaceship being on the same show?) but once you let go of your grip on reality and clear your mind, the show is fantastic. — The only reason I knocked my rating down a star is because there is only one season of Firefly to enjoy - it was sadly cancelled much, much too soon. The characters are great, the wit and comedic timing throughout is impressive and the show itself is just very well written. If you can handle and accept the fact that the last episode is really the end, then the series is worth picking up on DVD and watching in a mad...

lissabug says "A great pet for small living spaces - quiet and loving" about Dwarf Netherlands Rabbit

We adopted our dwarf rabbit, Hopper, as our daughter's first pet. We were concerned at first about a 2 and 1/2 year old and a rabbit getting along, but the two of them are now the best of friends. Dwarf rabbits are small, they are able to live in a cage (though you should let them out at least once a day if possible), they are inexpensive to feed, take minimal care, and can even be litter box trained! — These pets can be let free to roam the house as "house rabbits" or they can be contained in cages. We keep Hopper in a cage during the day while we're at work but let him out in the evenings and secure his location with a few baby gates. He never has accidents and ONLY goes potty in his cage, and the only trouble we've ever had is some chewing when we didn't bunny-proof well enough. — All in all I'd recommend a dwarf rabbit as a first pet, as an apartment pet, as a child's pet, and simply as a great pet in general. They are affectionate and snuggly, their cage needs...

lissabug says "Regular soda flavor, without the nasty aftertaste of diet." about Coke - Zero

I love Coke Zero! — I used to be a regular soda addict and Coke Zero is what got me to transition from regular to diet - and with Coke Zero I honestly can't tell that it's a 0 calorie drink. There's no nasty 'diet' metallic aftertaste and even my husband (a die-hard Coca Cola drinker) will have one every now and again. It really does have more of a 'regular cola' taste than anything else out there. — After over a year of drinking nothing but Coke Zero, Cherry Coke Zero and occasionally Vanilla Coke Zero, regular sodas just don't taste as good anymore. There's a definite difference between regular and Coke Zero, just as there's a definite difference between Diet and Coke Zero - but finding that happy medium is the best. — Coke Zero rocks! Now let's just hope that the aspartame in it doesn't have any long term health effects. —...

lissabug says "Free goodies and a chance to share your honest opinions." about BzzAgent

I've been a member of bzzagent.com for over a year and I've loved it since my first campaign. — The basic concept is that bzzagent.com sends you free stuff to try out and then report on. The idea is that you fill out surveys on the product and also "bzz" your friends, families, coworkers, strangers, etc. to get the truthful word out about the product that you're "bzzing." Your opinions don't have to be all positive either, you can "bzz" about the product based on how you genuinely feel about it with no adverse effects. The rules are simple - you have to disclose that you're a bzzagent and the rest is up to you. — Bzzagent.com offers a rewards system based on "bzzpoints" - but I'll be the first to admit that the good stuff is snatched up quickly. I've been a member for what seems like forever and I've yet to cash in on a single one. Usually I'm too slow, but for me the real reward is the free stuff that I get to try out, sometimes before it even hits...

lissabug says "Gets more gunk and gives a little tingle too!" about Biore Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips 6 ea

I've tried Biore pore strips time and time again and I'm generally left feeling pretty 'blah' about them. The original strips leave about as much gunk as they pick up and I usually only buy them on a whim. — The ultra deep cleansing strips are a different story though - they actually seem to pick up more of the gunk and leave my nose looking much better. There's a tingle that you feel while the strip is drying and it feels like they are actually doing something instead of just sitting there. The tingle feels good and when you pull the strip off it just seems to be more productive than previous versions of the same product. — One thing I will say (and the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars) is that the adhesive can get a little 'too stuck' if you leave the strip on for too long. I'm known to wander the house with one on my nose and I occasionally forget that they're on there. Pulling it off 15 minutes after it was supposed to have been removed isn't a...

lissabug says "Great protection, exceptional comfort, great fit!" about Pampers Swaddlers Diapers

My "baby" is just about to turn 3 years old, but I will forever be a devoted Pampers Swaddlers mama. The hospital sent us home with Swaddlers and we used them until the very day that we couldn't fasten her little butt into them any longer. They have great fit, stretchy sides, the newborn diapers have a cut out for baby's belly button, and they couldn't be cuter. — We tried lots of other diapers when our daughter was little, but Pampers won every time. We never had a leak with Swaddlers and they just always seemed to fit like a glove. They did just as they claim, they swaddled her little bottom and kept her snug and dry. — As our daughter grew and we had to phase out of the swaddlers, I never found another brand or style that fit as well or seemed as comfortable. Other pampers ended up being our choice, but if they made swaddlers that fit up to size 3 (when she got out of diapers), we'd have used them! —...

lissabug says "Modern skills with old-fashioned bedside manner." about Dr. Leslie Foote - - Salinas, CA

I came across Dr. Foote by a recommendation from my mother, a Hospice nurse. After years of being medicated for depression, anxiety and a host of other problems, and running into proverbial walls with doctor after doctor, I was ready to give up on ever living a better life. After one particularly bad experience with a psychiatrist I decided that I'd follow my mother's advice and give Dr. Leslie Foote a chance. My experience with Dr. Foote was overly positive and I left with a feeling of accomplishment - like I had finally found someone who would take my own feelings and thoughts into account when formulating a treatment plan. She genuinely listened to my symptoms and was ready to work with me, while gently putting her own thoughts and suspicions into action. I was sure that my problem was "xyz," and she obliged me and ran that test, but also ran tests for "zyx" because her experience told her that "zyx" was more likely....
