lisalovesmickey says "Great for a non-gaming adult like me" about Nintendo Wii - Wii Play

On a whim, I bought a Nintendo wii. I am 33yo and we don't have any kids. I just wanted one for myself. It has turned out to be great fun. It's a good way to de-stress when I come home from work at the end of the day. I'm certainly not big into video games, and I'm not very good at them either, but I'm having a lot of fun. We bought Wii play mostly because we wanted another controller, but I've found that I really like the games on it. They're very simple - nothing too complicated at all - so they involve basically no brain power. But they're still fun. I'm sure an average kid these days would be bored with them in about five minutes, but they've been great for me....

lisalovesmickey says "A simple way to build up your immunity and avoid getting sick" about Airborne

I am a big fan of Airborne. It might be mental, but I swear taking Airborne keeps me from getting sick. I work in a health clinic, so I'm often around people who are sick. When I feel myself fighting off a bug, I take Airborne, and it almost always works. The key is to start to take it as soon as you start getting sick, so I make sure to keep a tube in my purse, in my car and in my lunchbag. The other key is to remember to keep taking it every four hours or so, which sometimes I forget! Overall, it's easy to drink, it tastes good, and I think it works. The only disadvantage that I have experienced is that it leaves a residue in the cup that's hard to get off with washing by hand....

lisalovesmickey says "Follow the yellow brick road" about Wicked

I went to see this show on Broadway as a splurge. It was a lot of fun... but, it has not turned out to be one of my favorite musicals. I thought the acting and singing were great. The sets and staging were hands-down the best I have ever seen on stage, anywhere. They were incredible! The music, however, was just not very exciting. Usually, after I see a musical, I run home, download the soundtrack and listen to it for weeks to come. With Wicked, I ended up buying two songs, but that's all. The rest of the music was just not very memorable or enjoyable for me. The plot of the show is engaging, and it's great fun to see how it weaves together with the story of the Wizard of Oz. I have found myself thinking about the plot, and its cleverness, many times since the show. Overall, I'd say this show is very enjoyable....

lisalovesmickey says "A light mystery that makes me laugh out loud" about Claire McNab - The Quokka Question: A Kylie Kendall Mystery

This is a great lesbian mystery series. (If you can, start with the first book of the series and read from there.) The main character is down-to-earth and very likable. The mysteries have enough plot to keep me engaged, but not so much that I get confused or have to think too hard. There's also a healthy dose of romance and funny characters in every book. I buy each book in this series as soon as it is released, and then I look forward to reading it on my next vacation. It's pure fluff, but it's a lot of fun....

lisalovesmickey says "I was skeptical, but now I'm this car's biggest fan" about Toyota Prius - 2006

I was skeptical about owning a hybrid, but I chose the car we bought last time, so this time it was my partner's turn, and she wanted a Prius. We've had this car for over a year now, and boy has she proven me wrong! I love this car! It is fun and quick to drive, and even though I have a significant commute, I feel like I hardly ever have to stop at the gas station. We got a package that includes the keyless system, and I thought it would be kind of a stupid perk, but now I have gotten completely spoiled by it. Using actual keys when I drive our other car seems so old-fashioned. It's awfully convenient (especially when carrying bags of groceries and such) not to have to dig keys out of my pocket. I also really appreciate all of the volume and temperature controls on the steering wheel.

The disadvantages that I have seen to this car so far are two. First, you can pretty much only have it serviced at a Toyota dealership since the hybrid system is so complicated. This means...
...
