lionwriter says "Detail-oriented movie misses out on details" about Vantage Point

Vantage Point is an entertaining movie -- if you don't want to think. However, the makers of Vantage Point are urging you to think about everything in this political action thriller. I thought the beginning and ending were good, especially the final 30 minutes. However, the middle (which repeats itself 30 times from six different perspectives) is where the movie bogs down. The story is told repeatedly and there are small details that the audience is supposed to hook onto, however, there are flaws in many places and the story-telling turns slightly unbelieveable. The basic movie is good and sound, but the details is where this movie lost me. Three stars....

lionwriter says "A terrific ride you won't want to stop. " about The Italian Job

The Italian Job was a movie that I wasn't sure I would like going in. Rooting for theives and criminals? Excited about a heist? I didn't think I'd like it.

But, I did. I loved it. I thought that Mark Wahlberg was terrific and the rest of his crew was phenomenal. I would love to see a sequel, but that's OK it I don't either. In the end, this is one of my favorite movies.
...

lionwriter says "The Road offers faint optimism in the bleakest of times." about The Road

I read The Road before Oprah picked for her book club and was frankly a little surprised that she did. I loved it, but it isn't the type of book I would have thought Oprah would go for. The Road tells the story of an unnamed man and his son traveling through the world after it has been decimated by war or some apocolyptic event. The story is a little tough to get into, but once you do, you'll finish the book quickly. The author makes you pull for this pair in the horrible world they live in, and in spite of the wasteland they live in, you really can see some hope and optimism through the eyes of the boy. I would recommend this book to anyone. ...

lionwriter says "State Farm takes care of me like family." about State Farm

I have had State Farm Car Insurance for over seven years now. My wife and I have only had to use their services once -- when my wife was in a bad car wreck after being hit by an uninsured driver. State Farm took care of everything. They got her new glasses and got us a check for the totaled car within two weeks. I loved how they handled the process and have not had any problems with them ever since. Whenever I call, they know me and treat me like a friend or family member. I will stay with State Farm, no matter what....
