lawgrrl07 says "A sweetly funny postcard to Chicago." about I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With

I love Sarah Silverman. I do. I have a girl-crush on her. Hardcore. I want her to make me ice cream...(sigh)... So in the interest of full disclosure, I cannot write an objective review about this movie, no matter how hard I try.

Anyway, I very much enjoyed this film. It's everything I want in a romantic comedy - witty, zany, sweet, and full of the ups-and-downs of genuine relationships crammed into less than 120 minutes. The city of Chicago is a major character in the film as well, with location being as important in every scene as the actors themselves. Some of the city's best kept secrets are on display here with Second City, the Southport lingerie spot Trousseau, and even the amphitheatre seats at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millenium Park making cameo appearances. As the characters' lives entangle among the sleepy bedroom streets of some of the north side's greatest neighborhoods, you cannot help falling in love with the city itself. This is not the sophisticated Chicago...
...

lawgrrl07 says "Vintage Norman - crusty, erudite, and right on the money!" about Why Are We at War?

In classic Mailer style, he summarizes the reasons we were given for the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, building the temple to the military machine. And then turns and tears it all down. Slightly repetitive at times for such a slim volume, but overall a great way to encapsulate what a number of us are feeling about the current strategy in the Middle East....

lawgrrl07 says "I guarantee you'll say era tutto delizioso, grazie!" about Italian Grotto - Scottsdale, AZ

As this is my first Viewpoints.com review, let me start with a few "disclaimers". First let me say I'm not a food snob. I require a combination of good food, good service, and good atmosphere, with an emphasis on value for the money. I enjoy finding out-of-way places and spreading the word about the great ones. And I will never, ever, ever review a chain restaurant unless I need to rant that it should be closed down. Now, let's begin, shall we?

The Italian Grotto in Old Town Scottsdale has been a consistent favorite of mine since I moved to Phoenix in 2005. I have found the food to be hearty, good Italian fare, most of it under $20 per entree. The atmosphere is a bit eclectic. Nestled into the southeast corner of Scottsdale Road and Main in Old Town, they are in the heart of the kitschy tourist trap with an exterior that matches the weird "cowboys and Indians" theme going on up and down the street. Step inside, however, and it's all Brooklyn mom-and-pop casual dining. ...
...
