laurencat says "My cat spends the entire day and night next to this heater" about Econoheat Electric Panel Heater

I now have three of thes Econoheat\ electric heaters. They're great for a small room (13x13). Mount it on the wall and it's safe enough to leave on all day and night. I put a blanket under each one for my cat who sits near it all day. I keep the heat it the rest of the house at a lower level and just heat the bedrooms we use. Great way to save on our heating bills, as these heaters cost .40/day to run....

laurencat says "I worried it was too expensive, but I don' regret one red cent" about Apple PowerBook G4 Mac Notebook

I bought this computer in 2004, at the same time I was moving into a new house, so money was a little tight. I wanted to be more mobile, and to be able to watch movies and go online outside. Also I can take the computer when I travel.

I've had it four years now, and I love it! I have the 17" model. Originally planned to get the 15", but fell in love in the Apple store. No regrets.
...

laurencat says "Best pizza and Italian sandwiches in NJ" about Cioffi's - Springfield, NJ

Cioffi's Italian deli in Springfield is the only place I go for pizza and sanwiches in Union County NJ. Fra Diavolo pizza is awesome - a little spicy. You can stop in for a slice - they always have a variety of unusual choices....

laurencat says "Once a week I'm tempted to throw it out the window" about Palm - Treo 755P Cell Phone

I've had this phone for about 6 months, so I'm used to most of its idiosyncracies - and there are a lot. I'll lay out a few of them. I can feel my stress rising just thinking about it.

1. Oversensitive touch screen
If I smile when on the phone, I'll often hit the mute button (which I can then never find to shut off).

2. Poor location of buttons
For example, the button for hanging up a call is in the same location as dialing voicemail. So if I hit the hang-up button twice (which I often do, since it doesn't seem to work the first time,) I will also dial voicemail.

3. Phone gets stuck.
This happens at least once a day. Try to perform a function, and it just won't work. Sometimes it will work eventually, other times I have to remove the battery.

4. Battery drains quickly
If I use anything other than just the phone function, the battery drains very fast.

5. Maximum ring volume too low
I miss calls all the time, because I can't hear the phone ring

6. Poor interface
It takes too many steps to get to functions......

laurencat says "Cuisinart already replaced mine - twice" about Cuisinart 12-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker DTC-975 Series

We bought this machine because it fit our weekday routine. We'd program the machine to brew 12 cups at 6:15 am. My husband and I would each drink two cups for breakfast, then he'd pour the rest into a thermos to take to work.

Our first machine was fine for about 3 months. Then one day, I went into the kitchen to find coffee everywhere! The part that holds the filter was not locked in place, and the coffee was seeping out. I was sure it was my fault (though you'd think there'd be a mechanism that stops the brewing when all the parts were not aligned.)

Long story short, this happened twice more, and I called Cuisinart. I had to pay $10 for them to send me a new machine, plus pay shipping to return the brokken one.

Second machine lasted about 3 weeks before the same thing happened. Called Cuisinart and said I would not pay another $10. They said okay and sent me yet another machine.

This one's been okay for about a month, but I'm nervous.

I wouldn't recommend this brand. Next time I'll look......
