This was my third cruise I went with 3 others. One it was her first cruise ever. The other 2 were cruisers from another cruise line. We were ladies looking to have fun for a short time. WE DID! We chose this cruise for several reasons...one it was inexpensive, 4 days (that all the time we had) and it was there (we really wanted to go).

We drove to our port, which was Port Canaveral, Florida. It was about an 8-hour drive for us. We did sight see on the way...St. Augustine and Ormond Beach. We spent the night in Ormond Beach area. The drive to the port the next morning was about an hour, but it went very quickly with the 4 of us talking about what we are going to do once we get there.

Parking: We dropped off our bags...you would have thought we were running away from home for all the baggage we had...we tipped a dollar per bag...we expected that and planned for it. Parked the car $12.00 per day cash or credit card ahead of time. Parking is NOT COVERED. Walked to the building....

The Carnival ship Inspiration is a great ship. I had to get that out of the way first. We (my sister in law and myself) just returned from the Inspiration last week from a 5-day cruising experience. I will try to cover everything you ever thought to ask about and some stuff that you didn't think of. Warning...this is LONG!

First arriving in Tampa at the port. It is easy to find. It is Pier 2 and you can see it from far off. We dropped off our luggage first, and then drove around to the parking garage. It is $12.00 a day to park, they take cash or charge, and you pay up front. Our luggage porter said it was $10.00 it isn't. We dropped off our luggage at 10 a.m. We were early.
We parked the car and got some good pictures of us heading to the ship from the parking deck.

We stood around with other early bird arrivals. We didn't have to wait for long to be let in. At 10:30 we were let in with the message, "Please have your documents ready...your ticket and ID ready." We got our...

This was my first cruise on Carnival, but not my last. I have been looking forward to going on a cruise for years. This cruise is for our 25th anniversary. I am booking a cruise for October 2005 on Holiday.

I read the reviews and checked all the sites for information about our ship the Fascination. If a background check could be done on a ship I would have done one. It would have come out as clean as anyone could. I was impressed with the ship, the crew, the food and the entertainment.

We arrived early about 11:30-12 noon. When we arrived in Miami we found our port. Following the instructions downloaded from the computer. That was easy. Parking the car was a breeze. The people that worked outside the port were amazing. They directed traffic very well. We took all our baggage and walked to the port. We went inside and were amazed how easy it was to board the ship for someone who didn't know the ropes. Embarking was easy (fill out that Fun Pass ahead of time helps). We were told to go upstairs...

To start off this was my 4th cruise (all on Carnival) and my friend, Lori's 2nd (1st on Carnival). We decided this was our present to ourselves for graduating, so we booked this trip in October. Six long months ago!

We drove to the Mobile port. It is very easy to find and the directions from the Internet and the posted signs on the roadway are very accurate. We were turned away for being to early to board. They are very strict...you will not enter before they are ready! We sat and waited for hours...one reason for that was we were on EASTERN time and the ship is on CENTRAL time. Our mistake, but we were very early!

The ship! Yes, it is smaller than the other ships I was on, Fascination, Inspiration, and Sensation, but it still looked HUGE! Carnival employees were cleaning the ship as the passengers were leaving to make it clean for us, the new cruise. Beware, you will not be able to take any photos while you are OUTSIDE the terminal...I was guilty of that and was told to stop....
