It heats up pretty quickly and it does not take a long time to cool down. I also like this flat iron because all I need is a little oil sheen and it to make my hair look and feel silky straight without looking or feeling greasy. I do have a coarse grade of hair so if this flat iron straightens my hair, it must be the bomb.It also shuts off automatically after 10 minutes sitting idle.
