ladyabbies says "The bags are back and better than ever!" about Eureka - Boss Smartvac Bagged Upright Vacuum

I am not a neat freak, I really hate to clean...so I look for things to make cleaning easier and limit how often I have to do it. With two rambunctious dogs working against me at all times, that's easier said than done, but I still try:)

I had joined the whole bagless craze a few years ago, and had a decent vacuum, but I always felt that the dirt returned much too quickly. With a little help from Consumer Reports magazine, I was turned back on to bagged vacuums, especially for dealing with dog hair.

This vacuum was a top rated bagged vacuum, especially in dealing with pet hair, and I believe one of CR's "best buys" and so I discussed it with my husband and we decided to get it. It was under $150, not bad for a good vacuum, especially when you compare it to just about any Dyson.

This vacuum has been great and I really like the one attachment, "the power paw" even though there is no place to store it on the vacuum. But it's a great attachment for vacuuming upholstery and the stairs and...
...

ladyabbies says "This pill will leave you chilled, but not how it intended!" about Loopies Toys Loopies Rubber Chill Pill

Be warned, this item is not for dogs that chew. I purchased this for my dog because in the store it looked like a big, sturdy toy. Unlike other brands, this item didn't really have anything on its packaging to help me determine how chewable it would be and so on, but again, it looked big, was made of hard rubber, and cost over $10 (if memory serves I actually think it was more like $15 to $20 at Petsmart) and so I thought, here's a toy I can get for my toy destructor, Tucker, my year old German Shorthaired Pointer. HA!

We got the toy home and filled it with little treats and gave it to Tucker. The treats are these little cube treats that should have come out of the holes on the ends of this chill pill without too much effort. However, not long after giving him the Chill Pill I realized that he was leaving tooth prints all over it, and that parts of the rubber were being ripped off. This was within minutes! Not an hour, not hours later, not a week later and so forth.

Frankly, I took the...
...

ladyabbies says "Sleek coat that keeps my shorthaired breed comfy cozy!" about Ruffwear K-9 Overcoat II

My dog is not a little "froo-froo" dog and I don't dress him up for fun. Okay, my husband and I are guilty of putting funny hats on our dogs on holidays, but that's the limit. My dog is actually a 70 lb German Short-haired Pointer. He's large, he's muscular, he's active and he's happy. So why am a writing a review for a coat?

Short-haired is the key word. He gets chilly and I live in South Eastern PA, where we experience all 4 seasons, and he starts shivering in the fall. Last year, when he was a puppy, I would tuck him up in blankets, but I wanted a better solution for this year. So I started looking for coats. And it wasn't easy, cause most dog clothes out there seemed to be made for small dogs. Finding something practical, and reasonably priced, is hard when it comes to 70 lb and more dogs.

My search took me to the Ruffwear site: http://www.ruffwear.com, with a click on "products" and then "dog coats" I found the K-9 Overcoat. The dog in the pic is a Viszla, very similar to my breed,...
...

ladyabbies says "Finally, toys that my destructive dog can't destruct!" about Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Balls

We have a very destructive one and a half year old German Shorthaired Pointer. Luckily he does not destroy things like our furniture, but he kills toys. This dog can never have another stuffed toy because he rips them to bits, until there are pieces around the house that you have no idea what they once belonged to!

And most chew toys, even those we've bought that we thought were made for large dogs, he has ruined. And the ones that are more sturdy (like kongs and nylabones) are usually hard and not easy to throw around, and, being a GSHP, he loves to fetch and we often play indoors. The hard toys also tend to scratch up furniture and crash against the wood floor, not to mention I don't like him catching those in the air. Lastly, all of these toys cost money. I don't mind spending the money on something that will last, but when they don't, it's just money down the drain...and this is where planet dog has saved the day!

We own two planet dog orbee-tuff toys, a football and one of these fetch...
...

ladyabbies says "Become an instant rock star with this fun and addictive game!" about Playstation 2 - Guitar Hero II

My younger sister first introduced me to Guitar Hero and I could not play it at all. But then my husband gave it a try and he liked it alot (and unlike me, he's not a big gamer) and so I decided to get it for him. Well, of course I ended up playing it as well, starting at easy and I got the hang of it rather quickly with a little practice. I am now getting 5 stars on a lot of medium songs and my husband has moved into hard, with some expert. We own Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, and the 80's encore. There is a nice mix of songs, most of you will definitely know some well already, but even the ones you don't know are usually fun to play.

The guitar that comes with the box set for Guitar Hero 2 is a great guitar and I like it because it's a plug in and therefor does not require batteries. We bought a second guitar that we don't like as much, so we also ordered the box set that comes with a guitar for the soon to be released guitar hero 3. That one is wireless but hopefully it will be...
...
