kirbyrambo says "Safe and secure for cleaning and.... oh yeah, HURRICANES!" about Simonton Impact Windows

I've never been excited about windows until I had my double hung impact windows put in last year. They are not only easy on the eyes and noise barriers, I have a sense of security that I didn't have with regular glass windows. Thieves can't break these windows nor can hurricane debris. If we leave for vacation or have a storm coming, I have one less thing to worry about.

The double hung windows have a feature that lets you tilt the windows inward so you can clean both sides very easily. No more ladders on the outside of the house to climb to clean the windows on the second story.

I have had a few problems with the bottom sash coming off the track so the window can't lock. Fortunately, Simonton has very effecient customer service. I have called them twice and within minutes they have solved my problems with no hassle.

Impact windows are generally expensive and these are no exception but feeling safe, quiet and secure with easier cleaning is definitely worth it to me.
...

kirbyrambo says "Only true luxury jet-setters should apply" about American Express - Platinum

I received my amex platinum card last year in hopes that my husband and I could travel to New Zealand cheaper with its 2 for 1 airline perk. The annual fee was $250 but we were going to save so much money since the airline tickets were $1000s. Wrong! The 2 for 1 tickets are from the city leaving the U.S. (so you have to get there first, which for us was flying from the east coast to the west coast) and also are based on the published, not discounted rates......that's really the clincher. Most flights are "discounted" in some way. The published rate is a ticket that could be bought an hour before the flight- the highest rate possible.

This year when renewal time came up, they had another twist. For an annual fee of $395, you can buy up to 4 domestic travel tickets 2 for 1. Really, I'm normally not a sucker for these things!!! So, I called first to get some flights booked before I paid the annual fee. It worked! I bought a flight in June that I saved $248. I have several more...
...

kirbyrambo says "Amy's is healthy AND delicious" about Amy's Asian Noodle Stir Fry

I recently saw a nutritionist that told me to try to stay away from dairy and gluten. Sounded pretty easy until I was so tired of eating a salads for lunch and no sandwiches. I love sandwiches!

I finally found Amy's line of organic frozen foods. There are so many choices that are both gluten free and dairy free and believe it or not....they are really good. The Asian Noodle Stir Fry is probably my favorite so far but the Brown Rice and Veggies is surprisingly good as well. They come in a microwavable bowl so in 5 minutes, I have a hot, healthy tasty lunch.
...

kirbyrambo says "A perfect cup of hot beverage every time with no mess, no fuss." about Braun Tassimo Coffee Maker

I never understood the love affair with coffee drinkers and their morning cups of coffee....until my husband gave me a Tassimo coffee machine for Christmas in '05. It's a machine that reads an SKU code on top of a coffee (or tea, or hot chocolate, or latte) disc and knows how much steaming water to filter through it to make a perfect cup of hot beverage. It does this one cup at a time just to make sure that each cup is made exactly like you like it.

I can make one cup without wasting 4 other cups. I don't spill the grounds and make a mess. I never make it too strong. I never make it too weak. I don't have to wash that coffee pot constantly and worry about breaking it. I don't have to worry about gettting the top on the coffee pot perfectly lined up since i melted one side of it in the dishwasher. I love everything about this machine and was extremely happy the day I tossed the Mr. Coffee in the Salvation Army box.
...

kirbyrambo says "You'll never have to take a fist full of vitamin pills again." about Eniva Vibe Liquid Vitamins

Last year I went to a new chiropractor (Victor Drobnic in Ft Myers, FL) who realized that i was feeling so poorly because my body was depleted of too many vitamins and minerals. After seeing how many bottles of pills that he had stacked up after diagnosing my needs, he put them all back on the shelf and handed me one small packet of liquid vitamins and minerals which was Vibe. This was all I needed other than a time-released iron pill (I was terribly anemic and didn't know).

Since then, I have been taking Vibe everyday and I feel better than I have felt in years and years. My feet don't hurt any more, I have energy throughout the day, my muscles don't ache as much and my back doesn't hurt like it used to. My body is now getting the nutrition that it was starving for so it can tend to my body's needs.

It comes in a convenient disposable packet so it is easy to throw in your purse or pack in a suitcase. You can also choose to buy it in by the bottle but you must refrigerate...
...
