kimballco2 says "Loved the cruise, the crew, and the food" about Celebrity Cruises - Mercury

May 2006, took a 7 day cruise on the Mercury from Seattle to Alaska and back. What a treat. The staff was attentive, courteous, and a lot of fun. The accupuncturist was wonderful and helped my entire party to rid themselves of some nagging maladies. The multi-course dinners were absolutely wonderful. We were provided the opportunity to try all sorts of new foods that never would have been in our budget. The ports we stopped in offered great activities. The on-board activities were aplenty, and there was fun to be had by all. Definitely will cruise with Celebrity again....

kimballco2 says "Poor Customer Relations and Service.....I'm not important!" about Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center - Nashville, TN

November 2006. Took my mother and sister on what was supposed to be a week-long, relaxing vacation away from family. Booked a full package deal with shows. Our room was at the very far end of multiple corridors, even though I had explained, at check in, that my mother had recently had surgery and couldn't do a lot of walking. Our room overlook the convention area where thousands of teenagers lined the halls and ran rampant without supervision. We were even knocked over while walking. Complaints to the front desk went nowhere. Our room had multiple silverfish in the bathroom, leaving us to question housekeeping. Additionally, our room service cart sat outside our room for 2 days and our room was not cleaned for 2 days. We had to specifically request the front desk to send someone up to clean.

The hotel was too noisy and stressfuly to really enjoy ourselves. Considering the high cost to stay there, the value for the money was poor.
...
