kaypendragon says "Simple but Reliable" about SurveySpot.com

SurveySpot doesn't have all the fancy designs that many of the other survey websites have but they are reliable. They send out regular e-mails informing me of surveys available and the e-mails always have all the information that I want: It tells how long the survey will take and what the reward will be. While I do get offers for surveys with no cash reward from them periodically, I am easily able to see it and choose not to participate in that survey. — — I have successfully received more than one check from Survey Spot and in a timely manner. —...

kaypendragon says "Gather: a nice place to meet new friends." about Gather

Gather is primarily a community website which allows it's members to interact through articles, photos, videos and comments. As with any community, you get a wide variety of people ranging from stay at home moms to business workers. Gather is large enough that you can find a friend in nearly any interest. — — Gather does a good job of enticing not just your average user but also a number of famous folks to it's site. Published writers leave articles about their new books and how you can get published. Professional chefs leave recipes and cooking tips. Medical professionals have started support groups for a number of common illnesses and disorders. There's even a well known investing company available to help you make investing decisions! — — The point earning is a nice side benefit - you can earn "points" that you may later redeem for gift cards (to a decent variety of locations, which does change periodically) and...

kaypendragon says "we won't be returning there again" about Colonial Park Diner - Harrisburg, PA

There are always those local places whose dingy exterior hides a wealth of local color. The Colonial Park diner was NOT one of those places. The dingy exterior hid an equally dingy interior with ashtrays decorating each table. The food was greasy and boring and the waitstaff both looked and acted bored to death. The best part about the place was that the menus were colorful. We actually saw a waitress empty an ashtray into a used coffee mug while cleaning the table. — Needless to say, we won't be returning there again. — — — Note: This review is from a visit about one year ago. Recent advertising claims that they have updated, however I doubt that they are really a better...

kaypendragon says "Facinating Cafe" about Cafe Chocolate of Lititz - Lititz, PA

This quaint cafe on main street in Lititz focuses on the positive aspects of cocoa and fair trade organic foods. The flat bread pizza that we tried was very nice and quite flavorful. We also tried their signature "Turbo" drink that contains hot chocolate and espresso. I was surprised that it did not have the sugary taste that I associate with hot cocoa but was very good nonetheless. Prices here were higher than your average cafe but the service was friendly and the food was good. We've also tried their turkey sausage quiche which was excellent if small, and the portabella burger which was tasty but used a ground veggie burger rather than an actual mushroom. The staff are pleasant and outgoing. —...

kaypendragon says "Excellent food and atmosphere, right downtown!" about Ceoltas Irish Pub - Harrisburg, PA

Excellent Pub: We had dinner at Ceolta's Irish pub on 2nd street. The food was excellent! Kith enjoyed the whiskey chicken - he said that it was a bit dry but the sauce more than made up for it and the steamed veggies were perfect. I had one of their specials - chicken curry over fries. It was a huge bowl of sweet chicken curry with a good hit of spice and a ton of fries on top! The prices were quite reasonable, especially for downtown - $30 for the both of us, without drinks. The atmosphere reminded me of the pubs I visited in London, a nice trip down memory...

kaypendragon says ""an ill-conceived food ration"" about SOYJOY - Soy Snack Bars with Dried Fruit

I received a free sample SoyJoy berry bar from walmart. While I can't complain about anything free, I must say that I will never go out an purchase a SoyJoy bar. It was anything but joyful. — The ingredients list looked normal enough - all stuff I could recognize, like soybean powder, berries and red bean paste. — The bar itself did look like the product pictured on the package - a square log resembling a cookie in texture. — The taste, however, was abhorrent. The flavor was somewhat like a bad health food bar (with distinct raisin overtones) and the texture ranged from woody to gritty. My husband took one bite and announced that it was "an ill-conceived food ration". — This is one case where the free sample definitely influenced my decision about purchasing the product - I decidedly won't be buying this! —...

kaypendragon says "A great high zoom camera!" about Kodak - EasyShare Z612 Digital Camera

I love my kodak easy share! It's extremely sturdy - I take it everywhere. The high zoom of the Z612 is wonderful - I take a lot of photos at zoos and can always get a great shot! There are a lot of specialized settings and they all work well. — — It is fairly big for a digital camera - it feels more like a film camera in size but I like that. ...
