kasandralee says "A fun toy for curious little mouths!" about Kong Red Tuffy

The Kong is a simple but fun toy for dogs. We love to use it for treats. We take popcorn, or some other type of treat, put it in the bottem, and then top it off with a little bit of peanut butter. Our dogs love the taste and the trick of it. They will sit for a while working away at the toy, and find interest in it.

We especially love to use it as a prize for a job well done at bath time or nail clipping time, and our dogs just love the little surprises that come out after the peanut butter is licked away.
...

kasandralee says "The BEST product for dog hair removal on the market!" about FURminator Large

We were reluctant to purchase a Furminator for quite a while because of the cost, but after seeing good review after good review, we couldn't resist. We purchased our Furminator, took it home, and immediatly used it on our dogs. Seeing that we have six dogs in our home, we knew that we had much work in front of us.

We soon discovered that the Furminator was the BEST dog hair removal tool we had ever seen or used, and believe me...we have purchased many of them throughout the years. We started using it on our large long haired lab mix. After 30 minutes and just brushing on one side, we had removed a large pile of hair from her body. We used it on our other dogs and found it to be the same. It was amazing! We never thought that it would work as well as it did.

I can say that your dog really does need to have a bit of hair to really make it work. We have two small dogs that shed but have very short and fine hair. The Furminator does nothing for them,...
...

kasandralee says "A thought provoking classic that I love to read over and over!" about The Giver

"The Giver" is one of my all time favorite books. I am not an avid reader. I have never been one, but when I first was required to read this book in the sixth grade, I have loved it ever since. In fact, when I was in 6th grade, I would get into trouble because I kept reading ahead.

I couldn't help it, it is a wonderful thought provoking, and quick page turning book! I found myself identifying with Jonas, feeling as though I have a huge calling but not knowing where or how that calling will come to be. Jonas travels through some difficult ethical questions, finding more questions when he recieves his apprentenship with the Giver. Ironically, this is the most knowlegable position in the community, the very reason it poses so many questions for Jonas.

This book has been taught to children of many ages, and it also found itself on the banned book list, but I find it to be one of the best reads of my life. I continue to read it 10 years after my first...
...

kasandralee says "The best way to find your best friend!" about Dog Rescues

I always knew that when I would have the oppurtunity to get a dog, I would be heading to my local animal shelter to do so. I started looking for my best friend right after the spring semester finished up. I began at one shelter, running into an issue with the system. I had the perfect little pup picked out. She was a beautiful white and brown australian shepherd named Toffee, and I wanted her. So I filled out an application, and crossed my fingers. A few days went by without any call. Seeing as they were supposed to call after just 48 hours I decided to inquire. I called the shelter and found out that, even though i was number one on the list to bring Toffee home, they gave her to someone else. I only hope that she went to a good home.

A few weeks later I decided to try another shelter in a different town. It was there that I found my beautiful black lab mix puppy Bella. I picked her out of a narrowed down choice of 3. It was difficult but definitly...
...

kasandralee says "A good product for scratching, but not hair removal." about Pet Select Love Glove Pet Grooming Mitt

The Love Glove is a product which my dog Bella seems to like ok. She enjoys the feel of being pet with a little extra umph. The glove, though, is not a great product for effeciently removing dog hair. Yes, it does remove the hair, but I seem to spend more time removing hair from the glove then removing hair from my dog. She gets frustrated when i have to stop between each couple of strokes to clean the glove, a task which is not easy in itself.

I would say that my dog really likes the feel of the Love Glove, so when I want to give her some extra special treatment, this is a great way to do it, but as for hair removal...I have found superior products.
...
