karishma says "The baby loves it, and I like it too" about Leapfrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo

My brother-in-law bought this as the baby's Christmas present. He joked that he went looking for the most obnoxious noisy toy he could find. The joke's on him, though - the Spin and Sing is great for the baby, but it's music is catchy enough that we adults don't get bored or annoyed with it either.

There's 3 settings - letters, animals, and the alphabet song. The songs, letters, and animal names are sung/spoken by a pleasant female voice (adult). The animal sounds are a combination of musical tones, and children's voices (e.g. the lion sound is a child saying "roar!") It has 2 volume settings, so if your neighbors don't find it quite as pleasant as you do, you don't have to annoy them if you don't want to.

The spinning action works well, and requires a light enough touch that my 6 month old has figured it out. the lights and sounds keep his attention longer than most of his other toys do.

I definitely think the best part of this toy, though, is the fact that the makers obviously......

karishma says "I liked this so much, I bought a 2nd one" about As Seen On TV Smart Spin Storage System

I first saw these on an infomercial and thought it was a great idea, so when I found them at my local WalMart I picked one up immediately.

I love these containers. They come in 3 sizes - 1 cup, 2 cups and 4 cups, with the same diagonal so the lids fit all of them interchangeably. The sizes are great, just right for most everyday needs, and all I have to do is grab a lid from the stack and pop it on. The lids are a little tight to get on at first, but once they're on they stay on. i never have to worry about leaks from a container turned upside down. They're a nice sturdy plastic - refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher safe.

Of course, the best part of this system is the spinning stacking rack. There's 4 slots, so one for each size and one for the lids. It also slides out about 3 inches, so if you're using it in a cabinet, there's no awkward reaching. i keep mine on top of our refrigerator, though, because I have 2 stacks worth of containers on there.

I used to say that the only......

karishma says "If I had to do it over, I wouldn't even consider another seat" about Evenflo Triumph DLX Convertible Car Seat Car Seat

We decided on this car seat after reading a lot of reviews and looking at Consumer reports, etc. Our ultimate decision was between this one and the Britax roundabout, and we went with the Evenflo based on price. We figured if it didn't work well, we could always get the Roundabout later.

We don't regret our decision at all! This car seat lives up to all its promises, and we could not ask for more.

The best feature is the fact that it automatically adjusts, so we don't ever have to rethread the straps. This was an amazing convenience for us since our baby zoomed up from being a little preemie to being 17lbs at 6 months - the Triumph has served us well the entire time without needing any extra padding in the beginning, or any careful adjustment now.

I honestly cannot think of anything negative to say about this car seat.

...

karishma says "You never knew breastfeeding could be this comfortable! " about Boppy Bare Naked Pillow

I didn't want to go overboard on buying baby stuff, and thought the boppy was just one more marketing gimmick that didn't really serve a purpose. Boy, was I wrong!

I nursed my baby for the first 2 months without it - I used regular pillows, rolled up blankets, whatever was handy. It worked, but I found myself having a lot of pain in my wrists and arms from holding the baby up, and in my back from having to lean at uncomfortable angles to properly position the baby. And my preemie baby only weighed about 6lbs at this point!

I decided to give the Boppy a try. The first couple of times I used it, I was not terribly happy with it. It didn't seem to give me a whole lot more support than a regular pillow, and it slid around just as much - I was tempted to return it.

Then I had a Eureka moment! I had been trying to use it positioned in front of me (with the "arms" on either side) like shown in the picture on the cover. This wasn't working very well. I tried shifting it so the pillow......
