juwench says "great options for all eaters!" about R. Thomas Deluxe Grille - Atlanta, GA

As a devoted meat eater, whose three best friends are all vegetarian or vegan, finding a place that we all want to eat out is often difficult. That's why R. Thomas is my new favorite place. With a focus on fresh and organic ingredients, they are happy to cater to both herbivores and carnivores. The menu is extensive and includes lots of options for both. Also, as a diner style restaurant, they are open 24-hours and serve breakfast all day. The food is consistently fresh and prepared exactly to order. A great option for even the pickiest eaters! —...

juwench says "the best chai on the planet!!!" about Chocolate Coffee - Atlanta, GA

I love independent coffee shops, that this has to be one of the best. The atmosphere is one of a community meeting place - people either know one another or are making friends with new people. The service is always cheerful and friendly. And the menu is extensive and wonderful. Though i am devoted and addicted to their chai, I hear the rest of the menu items are wonderful. The vanilla chai is wonderful, and like so many of their restaurant items, is available sugar free - a nice option that not many coffee chains offer. Also, the chai is 98% caffeine free. It's a great place to sit and chat, have an informal meeting, get some work or reading done, of just people watch. Also, it's open long hours, so early enough to grab something before work, and late enough to relax after a long day. ...

juwench says "great for non-gamers!!" about Nintendo Wii Console

I am not a video game enthusiast - never have been. Every time I have ever tried a video game, I have found the controls difficult to learn and not at all instinctual, plus I'm always waving the thing aroud, even though that never does any good. UNTIL NOW! I will admit I'm nowhere near as good on the Wii-mote as my gamer partner, but I can generally pick it up and make it do at least some of the things I want it to do!! And many of the games are easy and uncomplicated enough that i can enjoy them for a time without feeling like I have begun a major quest that for the unskilled will never end. For me, just a few minutes of cow racing or bowling a day is plenty of video games! Plus there are plenty of incredibly complex sagas to keep the addicts in the family happy. And you can get old school games like zelda...

juwench says "even for those of us who are not VG addicts!" about Nintendo Wii - Wii Sports

I can bowl in the comfort of my living room!! Not that there's anything wrong with going to bowling alley in your pajama pants, but there eventually comes an age at which the embarassment about this takes over. I haven't played any of the other games yet, but the bowling was incredibly easy to learn, even for someone who has never liked video games. It is much more interactive than most games, so my gamer partner and I can play together, and even fun for parties. A friend of mine brought her Wii on vacation with us, and gour old friends stood around bowling for hours! It was a great...

juwench says "the best tool for a hot meal after work" about Rival SCR450 4.5 Quart Slow Cooker

I absolutely love my Crock Pot. Not only is it red to match my kitchen, but it works wonders on tougher cuts of meat, helping out my budget and having everything ready for me at the end of a long day of work. It is particularly great for beef, lamb and ork dishes - meats that are less likely to overcook in long slow cooking. I do find, however, that even on the Low setting, chicken put in before i go to work and left until i return tends to be way overdone. If I was buying another Crock Pot (which i will definitely do eventually), I would want to one with the timer feature, so that i could set chichen dishes to not begin cooking until a few hours before i return home. ...

juwench says "The worst service on record" about McDonalds Buckhead - Atlanta, GA

On a recent visit to the drive-through at this McDonalds, I was astonished at the level of customer service - there was none. It was bad enough that the young man working the intercom was brusque to begin with and then downright rude while i was ordering. He failed to answer questions, made mistakes in the order, and raised his voice irritably when asked to fix something. Upon reaching the window he snatched our card and walked away without answering the question i posed to him, or allowing me to adjust my order for his mistakes. My partner ended up not getting to order what he wanted, and I was on the point of cancelling mine, however the server did not return to the window to give me a chance. When he eventually did return with the order, he was willing to provide his name, "Dewey," however it seemed pointless to try for anything more. Instead I took down the customer service number provided on the window, and later placed a call to the management...

juwench says "The BEST thing I have read in a long time!" about Outlander

This is one of the best written and best researched books I have ever read. I read almost every historical fiction I can get my hands on, and this is the best. Not only are Jamie and Claire intensely real characters, but the historical details are so vibrant and rich, that it really brings the 18th century to life. Reading this book is like falling through the stones yourself. The first 50 pages or so may not grab your attention, but if you keep going til the men in kilts show up, i promise your perseverance will be rewarded. It is easy to fall in love with the characters - particularly Jamie Fraser, who is definitely the perfect man! In sum, a treat for romantics, history buffs and fiction lovers of all breeds. Even my boyfriend loved this...

juwench says "Great value for what I paid." about Creative - Zen Vision M - 30G MP3 Player

I have to admit I have not spent a huge amount of time figuring out the specifics of my new Zen, but it was farily easy to get it synced to my computer and get my music on there - which was the most important thing for a daily train commuter like myself. There is tons of storage - I can probably get my whole collection on here (where i get around to it). The display is customizable and i love my bamboo theme. Also, getting pictures stored on the Zen is easy. The only problem so far has been trying to get my beloved Red Dwarf Divx files playing on it, but this may be because i'm not terribly technologically minded. But in general a great deal and I'm very happy with it. It is a little bulky, which is do not mind, but others might. ...
