I have been trying new salons, as my regular stylist has retired. I went to California Cuts a few months ago, for a haircut. I spent 45 minutes looking thru magazines and books, for the cut I wanted. I showed it to the stylist and she said she could do it, I asked if she wanted the book to go by and she said no. Needless to say, my cut looked nothing like the picture.

That is not the worst of it. My daughter had gotten married 4 days before, and had given me a beautiful necklace, as my mother of the bride gift. The stylist cut the chain in half and all she had to say was " oops, my scissors must really be sharp" I told her where I had gotten the necklace and that I had just gotten it. Her resonse was" well you would have had to replace the chain sooner or later anyway, it was too thin" Never once did she apologise, or offer to replace the necklace.

I went home and wrote the shop owner a letter. Two weeks later the stylist called to apologise, you could tell she was not sincere.

I use this search engine all the time. It is just as good as google, but every time you search, they donate a penny to your favorite charity.

So if you are going to search anyway, why not do it and do some good too?

I look up web sites thru them daily, all my searches go to The ASPCA, but they have a pull down list to choose from. You do not have to use the same charity every time you search either.

If you are a non-profit organization, you can sign up and have donations go to your charity.

It's a win, win situation for everyone!

I recently had to go to Hauppauge, LI, NY, on family business. I stayed two nights at the Islandia Hampton Inn. I had a smoking suite with a ( very comfortable ) kingsize bed, with 4 fluffy pillows on it. The suite was impeccably clean. It also had a comfy couch, refridgerator, microwave, hair dryer, iron , ironing board, and coffee pot. The bathroom was also clean as a whistle, with plenty of fluffy, soft towels.

There was a hot and cold breakfast buffet every morning from 7am-10am, the food and choices were excellent. This was included with your room.

The staff were very polite, considerate, and helpful.

The hotel is located directly on the service road of the Long Island Expressway, so is easy to get to and from.

I would recommend the hotel to everyone.
