jtbutz says "very good" about Shiner Shiner Bock

I love shiner and i am a texan so i have to have pride in my state's product. It is very good and whenever i can't get negra modelo, i get shiner. That being the case, i compare the two. They both have very similar aftertastes, but shiner doesn't have the diversity of negra. Shiner is a very good straightforward beer. It's just not that complex and that is the only reason i didn't give it a 5....

jtbutz says "my favorite beer" about Grupo Modelo Negra Modelo

I have nothing bad to say about this beer. The only argument i get from people is that it is too bitter, but usually they are people that don't like beer or don't like dark beer. However, those are the people i search for because i think that this beer is so exceptional that people with those natural tendencies will probably appreciate it. The people who like dark beer already know of it and love it. I find it hard to describe taste, so i will try and describe taste with taste. The nose is sweet. The pallet is like a mexican light beer with a little bitterness. The aftertaste is very full, mixing the taste of a german dark beer with all of the aforementioned qualities. It's beautiful and despite the heavyness, they are so good that i can drink them indefinitely....

jtbutz says "good, but risky" about Corona Light

I would have given carona light a 5, but the quality is 80-90% from what i have experienced. There is nothing worse than looking forward to a good beer and spending your hard earned money then to receive an inferior product. I love carona light MOST of the time. However, i have never drank a beer with this much inconsistency in quality. The bottle is the obvious culprit, but it gives it a unique quality. This is one of my top 3 light beers, but i am always hesitant to buy it because i may have just thrown $30 down my sink....

jtbutz says "very good for light beer, not for saving money" about Heineken Light

I think that this is my favorite light beer i have ever tried. I am more of a dark beer lover, but if i want quantity, than i go with light beer. I like miller lite and carona light as well. Carona is hit or miss with me because i have bought many of them that were skunky and horrible, i've heard because of the bottle. I like miller lite, but heineken is far superior taste wise. However, it would cost me $32 for 24 heineken lights and it would cost me about $20 for miller lite. Would i say that the 160% price difference is worth it, yes and no. I would buy 6 heinekens and then 18 millers if i were going to choose the best cost/pleasure ratio....

jtbutz says "filling" about Budweiser

I like the taste of budweiser original. It is a very full flavor with a distinct taste so there is no substitute. However, it is a very heavy beer and i can't drink that many of them. That being the case, i don't drink it often because i think it is inferior, taste wise, to other heavy beers....
