johanset says "Awsome film - based on a true story." about Alpha Dog

This movie is based on a true story involving young people, drugs, personal vendettas, and emotions. It is entertaining and truly depicts the events that happened, even including an interview with the young star's mother at the end, which ties the movie to the reality of the story and the potential for something like this to happen in any community. It is set in a high-class, mainly white California neighborhood, not in low-income, primarily minority area. The film gives the real outcome of events at the end, and all facts can be verified online, which is proof that the makers of this movie put time and effort into the research process before filming. Some of the actual people involved in this incident even tried to stop the release of the movie, citing their belief that a jury pool would be unfairly biased by the character depictions. The residing judge denied this motion, as the events are portrayed according to the facts. I don't like to re-watch movies very often, yet I've......

johanset says "Authentic seasonings and simple to make." about Zatarain's New Orleans Style Jambalaya Mix

I only gave this 4 out of 5 stars due to the large amount of salt in the mix; I haven't tried the reduced-sodium mix yet but am eager to do so. I've used this mix numerous times without any problems, using a can of shrimp for seafood as well as a pound of andouille sausage for more authenticity and spice. I like hot food, but not any that is HOT; this is perfect when I'm looking for that flavor to remind me of New Orleans. The optional red pepper packet has always been reserved for my fiance's overly spicy taste, yet he has yet to add it to this particular dish. Very tasty!!!...

johanset says "Buy and sell good quality kids clothes on a budget!!" about New To You Kids - Milwaukee, WI

This store has the quality of department stores with the prices os thrift stores. Available are clothing, toys, accessories, and furniture. Everything is barely used (we parents know how little many items are used before they are outgrown.) At this clean, organized store, you can bring in slightly used items for credit to be used in store, essentially trading your baby items!!! Outfits for my then 4-month-old are anywhere from $3.95-$5.95, complete with onsie, tights, and dress!! As most stores have shopping carts for use, this one has strollers for in-store use, as well as a play area to keep children busy while parents are shopping. A note to those wishing to sell items - call the store first so that you know which season of clothing they are accepting at the time. All items must be newly washed (duh!) as well as packaged in boxes; bags will not do. Recently we spent $50 for a large portion of my daughter's wardrobe. Check this store out and remember to bring cute outfits......

johanset says "Try the Rusty Dough." about The Rusty Skillet - Milwaukee, WI

We used to laugh at the name of the restaurant - it doesn't sound very appealling to eat rust, but we happened to eat there one day due to convenience. The food has always been hot, freshly made, of excellent quality; I have never had a complaint. A big plus is that it serves breakfast all day. Usually I spend about 5-10 minutes with a menu to make a decision, which has happened here, but often I go for my favorite.......awsome eggs benedict!!!! My fiance has ordered anything from sandwiches to breakfast to dinners, and between the 2 of us no food is ever left behind. The rusty dough is actually a very simple concept - it's a lightly fried, slightly flattened dough. In it's simplest form, it is covered with a homemade, sugary glaze, and can even be subtituted for toast with breakfast items. There is also a seperate rusty dough menu with a variety of variations, such as one with strawberries and cream cheese or even ice cream, caramel, pecans, and whipped cream.($2.95 I believe) ......

johanset says "I've used it for 3 months without changing the blade." about Schick Intuition Plus Razor

Not only does this razor last for an unbelievably long time, it is almost impossible to cut yourself while using it - no matter what area of hair you are removing. I love how it is a 1-step process to shave with this razor; no gels or moisturizers....
