jmh says "Intelligently crafted with pop hooks to get your heart pounding" about Magic [10/2] by Bruce Springsteen

Brendan O' Brien did a better job producing Magic than he did The Rising. Musically, the album is slick, and not as muddy as The Rising. Lots of guitar hooks and pop melodies a la Born in The USA and the upbeat songs on The River. Lyrically, a very dark album. Maybe like what Born in the USA was meant to be before his career caught fire. Bruce is the best at what he does, and is an erudite musician and lyricist. He has his finger on the pulse of what's REALLY going on in...

jmh says "CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT" about Sirius Satellite Radio

Satellite will be the death of terrestrial radio as we know it, just as digital music will be the downfall of the musinc industry as we know it. I can't live without Howard Stern and E Street Radio! So many channels of great, commercial free music, plus the NFL, NBA, NCAA. I'm not a NASCAR fan, but if you are, then what else do you...

jmh says "Reminds me of the quirkiness of Moonlighting" about Pushing Daisies

I was excited to check out this new show. It reminds me of the quirkiness of Moonlighting in the 80's. I must say though it has not held my interest. It's very annoying how they have to tell you the entire premise over and over again at the beginning of each episode, just in case you can't remember about the piemaker's special powers. They also portray the piemaker to be a charity...

jmh says "I was hooked from the first scene on..." about chuck

I gave one other new show a try this year and was disappointed. Then I remembered seeing a preview about a geek that has all the government secrets in his head. I decided to give it a shot and was hooked immediately. Each show is very well put together, with the right balance of comedy and action, hot girls, and lame geeks. — Brought to you by the very same folks that gor everyone hooked on the O.C. before it became lame. —...

jmh says "Riveting. Non stop excitement" about Ice Road Truckers

Whether you're a fan of trucking or not, this show has you on the edge of your seat. My dad is a trucker and he LOVES it. My friends want nothing to do with trucking and they love it too! It's exciting to see the ice crack under their wheels. The truckers become stranded in sub zero weather and worry about freezing to death, but I bet it's nice and warm in the truck with the film...
