jmedic35 says "The best flea product I've ever found!" about Advocate Advocate Flea

Most of us are very concerned about the flea problem in most areas. I know I am. Fleas are not only uncomfortable for our dogs, but they can cause illness, hair loss, allergies and so on. — I discovered Advocate a couple of years ago. It is a relatively new product that is a once a month treatmet that is put between the dog's shoulder blades. It will get rid of any fleas within 12 hrs. (usually I've seen them gone in far less). It also gets rid of round worms and helps in the prevention of heartworms, hookworms, whipworms, sarcoptic mange, and ear mites. — Since I have been using this product I have not had a dog with any type parasite, ear mites or heartworms. Oh, yes, as long as I use it each month, they do not have fleas. — In very heavy flea season, I have had to use it at 3 week intervals, to keep the fleas off. — Wonderful product - and very reasonably priced. —...

jmedic35 says "You'll Want More!" about Grey's Anatomy

Okay... I have to say that this is one of my all-time favorites! I can't wait for each show and there are not enough of them. I'd like this to be on every night. — As a paramedic I am familiar with much that occurs on here procedure-wise. Most are pretty accurate, although some I do sit and laugh. (Such as when Meridith had drowned and they were resusitating her) — All in all, it is pretty believable. It sure keeps you coming back and coming back...... — There is a lot of plot lines as adultery, sexual inuendo, etc. However, it is not presented in an offensive way - it is presented no differently than we deal with the issues around us in everyday life. We know it is there, we often see it and know who's doing it, but we don't have to approve or participate. — I've been watching this in DVD and am anxiously awaiting the next season to come out! —...

jmedic35 says "Highly offensive language" about Gone Baby Gone

I can't review this entire movie, as I only stayed for the first few minutes and I was outta there! — I come from a Christian viewpoint who cannot just look at a plot that might be good. I have to look at other criteria that may be harmful to us. I realize that is not a popular view and most would laugh, but there are those out there who agree with this and they need to be warned what to expect. — I found the language so overtly offensive that I couldn't sit through it. Very vulgar and uncalled for. — Not recommended. —...

jmedic35 says "Can't Wait Till the Next Show!" about Lost

There are very few shows on that I really get into - in fact, I don't watch a lot of tv anymore. This show, though, is great! I started watching it on DVD and am now waiting for the next season to come out. — There are times you feel the plot is getting a bit ridiculous and far-fetched, but at the same time, it remains interesting and keeps bringing you back for more. — It is one of those shows you can sit back, relax, enjoy and let everything else go for awhile. — I would recommend it to anyone....

jmedic35 says "Awesome insight! Really Makes you think!" about Lord Foulgrin's Letters

This book is a modern version of "The Screwtape Letters". It is just awesome! It is a story of a family on one side... their characters - with all the good and their flaws, how they function day to day as life goes on. Very interesting story in itself. On the other side, you have Lord Foulgrin and his cohorts from hell. This is the story of how the demonic knows you and works things in your life for your ultimate destruction and to keep you from serving God. — It is a riveting book, as it is truly interesting and fast-paced. If you are a Christian, it will give insight to how things may work in the supernatural realm and just what could be going on behind the scenes. It will cause you to stop and think about your life. — I just can't say enough about the enjoyment in reading this book - as well as - the spiritual inspiration it gives. Here is an excerpt of a professional review on this book: —...

jmedic35 says "Dogs are carnivorous and this is not what they need." about Beneful Original Dog Food

I was married to a veterinarian for quite some time and I have raised dogs for many years. I now work with a therapy dog and am in the process of starting my own therapy dog group. I have an ex son-in-law who consults with local veterinarians on many health related issues for dogs, as he is considered an expert in the field. — Dogs have always been carnivorous animals - meat eaters. The protein in meat is what they need to maintain optimum health. The nutrition that comes from corn and grain is not what they need at all. In order to make a feed like this meet a dog's nutritional requirements, they must add many nutrients to the food - most of it man-made rather than natural. — If you buy a dog food that the first ingredient listed is a meat - not a meat by-product - but a meat, then your dog is more apt to get the natural nutrients that he so desprately needs. — The nutrition we give our dogs helps determine their life span as well...

jmedic35 says "Good for short term but not over the long haul." about Atkins

First of all, I am a paramedic and very concerned about health issues. I am also overweight, so this is a real health problem for me, if not now, it may be later. Therefore, I am seeking to lose weight, but in a healthy manner. I had considered the Atkins diet, as my body/metabalism type needs high protein and I gain from carbs and fat. I thought this diet would work well for me. — A close friend had used the Atkins diet to lose quite a bit of weight and it really worked for him. However, I noticed that he did not look healthy anymore. He looked drawn, old, and ... just didn't look good at all. He also lost a lot of his energy. When he quit the diet, he began to look better again. He found that he could restrict his carbs, though not as severely as the diet called for and he kept his weight down. — I tried restricting my carbs in the way he had started doing when he quit the diet itself, and I found that I...
