I know many other companies came out with their own front loading machines, but the Whirlpool duets are the best ones. They have a nice look, and a huge loading capacity, they don't make noise, don't take a lot of soap and/or water. Not only is it entertaining from when they are newborns, but it then transforms into an exersaucer for the 4 months and over and, int another toy, for when they can stand and walk! This is the monitor i wanted as a gift, but instead got another, which i reviewed also, and was not good at all. Anyways, this monitor allows me to sleep peacefully, because there is NO constant white noise and i can hear baby VERY CLEARLY, even as he just starts making little sounds, even before being fully awake. And the movement option on it, reassures me, that if, God forbid, he should get stuck with his face in the matress or something, the alarm will go off and i'll have time to go save him. I know it does not prevent SIDS, but in my mind, it does help. The alarm sounds after 15 seconds of no breathing movement, which in my opinion is better than the sounds only monitors. I ABSOLUTELY wanted this monitor, and nothing else! I highly recommend it to all mothers, especially first mommies like me! But, remember, any monitor does not replace a parent, you still need to check on your baby regularly!!... But anyways, my husband said we should try it before baby got here, so we'd know wether it corresponded to our needs, as I am a worry freak! So, we installed all of the units and all we hear was white noise. We switched channels, many times, still the same thing. We even moved around the units, always the same thing! So we decided, that is NOT what we want, I wanted to be able to hear if my baby was waking up or choking! Not constant white noise that would keep me from sleeping!! Are we glad we chose to go with those...they are amazing! Much less washing and sterilizing, easy to use, lighter for baby when he starts to hold his own bottle. We love it! And much less air in the bottle than the usual bottle, because you get to remove ALL the air by pressing in the plastic drop-in bag before feeding baby, and if you leave the bottle laying on its side, while you burp baby, no air comes in!
