jessica182 says "Ice Cream Lovers you will love this!" about Cuisinart Cuisinart Stainless Steel Ice Cream Maker

I love ice cream! Anybody else with me?

I received this as a wedding present and was over the moon when we opened it. It has a sleek design, so it seems to go with anything and the best part - it makes more than just ice cream.

It includes a handy dandy little recipe booklet that gives you recipes for ice cream, gelato. and sorbet! So it is something that the husband and I can enjoy together as he is a sorbet lover.

The recipes cover everything and are all very simple to make with only a few ingredients, there are some that have more ingredients than others, but that is to be expected if you are trying to make something other than your basic vanilla ice cream.

I am going to say that it is quiet, but we have also plugged it in and left it outside, so it seems to be as loud or as quiet as other ice cream makers.

Love love love this machine and all of the yummy treats that come out of it!

jessica182 says "Might be good for travel only." about Samsonite Samsonite Travel Garment Steamer

I recently received this steamer as a wedding present. My husband and I travel a lot for work and with the clientele we see, often need neat and pressed garments.

I love the idea of this steamer, it is compact, the cord folds up easily and it also breaks apart easily for clean-up, draining of water.

The downfall would be that with the easy clean-up, it can also very easily open on you when you are trying to steam something. It takes forever to heat up and does not have a lot of power when it comes to steaming and pressing items. It will get the job done yes, it is just going to take forever to do it.

If you are in a pinch and you find yourself with this steamer I say go for it, otherwise pick up another one and try your luck. Or maybe just grab the closest iron and see what you can do to your clothes. Hey, you could even get those nice pressed lines in there with that iron.

Happy steaming to all. And if you know of any better ones for travel, please do tell!
...

jessica182 says "Easy to operate, easy clean up." about DeLonghi Delonghi Dual Zone Stainless Steel Deep Fryer

I received this deep fryer as a wedding gift recently and have only used it once. I could not find anywhere that stated how much oil it needed to I went out and got a gallon of peanut oil. (I found it at Wal-mart for the best price in case anyone was wondering.)

Upon opening the deep fryer for the first and filling it up, I discovered that it takes exacty one gallon of peanut oil.

It did heat up rather quickly and do a nice job with the french fries that we made. And it didn't leave them feeling greasy like some deep fryers.

It has easy clean up as just about everything comes apart on it so that it can be cleaned.

One thing that I do not like about this deep fryer is the time it takes to drain it. I would say at least an hour as the spicket is rather small and keep in mind you are draining a gallon of peanut oil.

And I recommend picking up a funnel, a small one, so that you can drain the oil back into the jug it came from without a mess.
...

jessica182 says "Leaves bread perfectly toasted!" about Black & Decker Black and Decker Toast-R-Oven Broiler

I have never owned a toaster oven and when I went to go do my registry with my fiancee at the time, he had to have a toaster oven. We ended up receiving the toaster oven as one of our wedding gifts and I must say that I am pleased with it. I had a little trouble at first and every now and then, but I blame that I never having used a toaster oven before.

The husband threw away the manual so it has been me figuring it out my own. Without it though, it seems somewhat self explanatory. It is easy to clean up, as it has a slide out tray at the bottom for the crumbs. It also came with a tray, a smaller version of what appears to be a cookie sheet, for cooking. Though I have yet to use it yet.

I guess I really just like the way the bread is toasted in the morning for sandwiches. It leaves the most perfect lines across the bread, a delicate golden brown, that slight crunch.

Not sure what else I would use this oven for but I love using it to make sandwiches, in case you couldn't tell....
...

jessica182 says "I crave these sandwiches." about Roscoe's Family Deli - Chino Hills, CA

This is a fun place to eat with great food and huge portions. There are peanut shells on the floor and you get to add to them as every person gets their own bag of peanuts upon being seated. The wait staff is super friendly but also laid back. Don't go here if all you want is someone to wait on you hand and foot. They do wait on you, but as there are often games on and people drinking beer, they let you enjoy your time.

Sports bar / restaurant with a nice-sized outdoor patio. I will eat there again and again. If you have ever been to Heroes in Fullerton, it is very similar, as the owner's are the same.Or at least this is what he told me last time we were in there.

Everything on the menu is amazing. I can't recommend one sandwich or soup more than the other, all are delicious.

The restaurant has the ability to become very loud, not sure if i would recommend it to a family with young children. Or maybe just don't go during the normal busy dinner hours.
...

jessica182 says "Everyone should own this brand - best ever!" about Anolon Anolon Advanced

I recently received some of these pans as a wedding gift. I love them, there isn't a single thing wrong with them. Super easy clean-up, hand wash as they are non-stick. The handles are heat resistant and have great grip, comfy as well.

I have the cookware set - 10 piece, the wok, the roaster, additional griddles and skillets, and a stock pot. I would recommend this brand to anyone in the market that is looking for new cookware. You won't be dissappointed and I doubt you will find anything better!
...

jessica182 says "Poor Customer Service" about Avis

I recently used Avis for an Internatonal Business Trip, I was sent to France for two weeks and last minute needed to extend the reservation on my car. The location I picked the car up from was two hours from where I was staying out in the country. I tried calling repeatedly and everytime there was no answer. The site stated that the location should be open and so did the main customer service line. So I kept calling until I got a recording stating that the office had been closed for the night.

Because of the time difference I tried calling the states to see if there was a database that they could work with. They were rude and just kept saying that I needed to call the location that I picked the car up from. At this point I was worried that I was going to be charged for the whole car, since they might consider it stolen, and was incredibly upset. After several phone calls and lots of pleading, one person finally said that I could go to a closer location and take care of changing the reservation....
...

jessica182 says "Worth it" about 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels

I have been trying for sometime to find a routine that works for me. I am not really a fan of the Biggest Loser, but I have heard nothing but great results from the show, and others who watch it. I decided to pick up this DVD and give it a try. I am getting married in a couple of months now and just wanted to tone up my body a little more.

I can say that for 20 minutes, she kicks your butt. All of the exercises are easy and she customizes them to different levels depending on your ability. I work out five days a week doing various exercises (running, pilates, yoga, etc.) but the day oafter I tried this routine for the first time, I was sore in places I didn't even know you could be sore in.

But it is worth it if you want the results. I feel better about myself, I feel slimmer, though I haven't weighed myself, mainly because i do not own a scale, but my clothes are fitting differently. I guess overall I got that definition that I wanted and I do feel stronger.
...
