jessbowen says "Hmmm, not as great as I wanted it to be" about Nintendo - DS Lite Console

I've had every game boy since the original - in fact, I still like to play my original Tetris game. I loved the improvements that came with Game Boy Advance, so I was excited when dh gave me this as a gift. — Unlike every other GB incarnation, this one cannot play all old cartridges - it can play most GBA ones. The new cartridges are TINY - literally a thick postage stamp size - and can be hard to keep track of. Some integrated storage would have been thoughtful. — The adult games that are available are nice - I have Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. Both were interesting to play for a while. I especially liked the Sudoku on Brain Age. But, I felt like I maxed out on the games quickly. I tried a few other versions of Sudoku for the DS, but they were so terrible! I'd like to see better quality games offered for the machine. — Lastly, it's just not that comforable to hold in your hand! After a short while, I...

jessbowen says "Great Soap for kids or clumsy adults" about Johnson's Buddies

This is a great little product! It's a bar of soap wrapped in a soft mesh. I bought it for my kids to use at the shower house at sleep-away camp which has concrete floors. If you drop you soap there, it gets kind of icky. Not only does the mesh make the soap less slippery, but if you do drop it, it's protected. The mesh makes it lather up so nice and it smells light and refreshing - not feminine for boys, or overpowering at all. After camp was over, I find it great for the locker rooms for swim team practice. THe mesh also makes it so you can use the soap down the the very end - the last little sliver doesn't just melt away. — Although the product is marketed for kids, there's nothing about it that wouldn't work for adults too. Once it's out of its packaging, it's not juvenille in anyway. I would think this would be a great product for older adults, arthritis sufferers, etc. If you watch for sales, you can...

jessbowen says "Not worth the extra price" about Doubletree World Arena Hotel - Mahwah, NJ

This hotel was ok. Standard room, clean, two queen beds, desk, reading chair, etc. There is a Super-8 right next door however - I'm guessing those rooms have all those things too. I selected this hotel because I was able to get a good rate on-line. I arrived a day early and wanted to stay 2 nights instead, but they wouldn't honor my rate for both nights and I ended up over-paying. I will say that the fridge - microwave combo was nice to have in the room. The fridge did not have a mini-bar - I actually prefer that to the over-priced liquor nips and snickers bars, but that may be just me. I was right next to the pool and fitness center and never noticed either to be very busy which was nice. I used the pool - it was larger than many hotel pools and would be great if you had kids. My tv remote wouldn't work right and I asked two different times to have it replaced and I still ended up needing to shake the thing to make it work. ...
