jerakain says "A must see in an unexpected spot!" about Sugar Creek

As a native of Cincinnati, I decided to travel close to home due to fuel shortages. What a revelation an unexpected kismet this trip turned out to be. However, one of the most interesting spots was in a tiny place caled Sugar Creek, Ohio. (Also, please include neighboring Dover, Ohio). About an hours drive NE of Columbus you will come to a stoplight after exiting the expressway. If you turn one direction you will go to Sugar Creek; if you turn the other way you go to Dover. Both are extremely worth it. Sugar Creek is in the heart of Ohio Amish country. The community made its living primarily by manufacturing bricks. However in addition you can now find the traditional Amish businesses you would expect to see in Pennsylvania...a blacksmith, a bakery etc.. You will see the standard black horse-drawn buggies and friendly Amish people. But the eye-catching feature of this tiny community is their store fronts. You feel as though you have been transported to Switzerland. The storefronts......

jerakain says "Something for everyone!" about Chicago, Illinois

Chicago has it all! Sight seeing, shopping, museums, you name it! It is a great place for a family vacation especially if your children are old enough to appreciate the fabulous museums there...Shedd Aquarium with its Beluga whales and the Field museum of Natural History with A full sized African elephant, a complete T-Rex skeleton, and a world class Egyptian display including the mummy of Ramses II (remember Moses and the Pharoah who chased him across the Red Sea?). Also (my personal favorite) is the Museum of Science and Industry. Here you will find a working coal mine, an entire captured U-boat, Colleen Moore's dollhouse (spectacular!!! every little girl's fantasy), a giant walk-through heart and much much more! There is Navy Pier, a children's museum, shopping, shopping, and more shopping, Lake Michigan, boat cruises. I could go on and on. About a 30 minute drive outside Chicago is the exquisite B'hai Temple with architecture which reminds you more of Europe of the middle East than......

jerakain says "Gets right to the heart of a difficult situation in a funny way" about Knocked Up

This movie shows what can happen when normally responsible adults lose their inhibitions and allow alcohol to take control of their better judgement. Comedic representation of some realistic situatiions and reactions. Good acting alll around gets into the psyches of the characters. Shows how complicated life can be until we stop thinking of ourselves and start thinking about what's best for those we love. Then all is right with the world!...
