jeamsie says "I never tire of this" about Car Wheels on a Gravel Road [Limited] by Lucinda Williams

<p>This album, from start to finish, is a masterpiece. It is a true classic, and every song on it is a gem. "Crescent City" is one that I listened to a lot in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The song is a real tribute to the glorious city. This record really captures the feel of life in Louisiana and East Texas. The title track is amazing, and there are a few buried, soft and slow gems, stuck in here as well. Well worth the price!</p>...

jeamsie says "Gorgeous" about Central Reservation by Beth Orton

<p>"Concrete Sky" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. This woman should be wildly popular: she has a beautiful voice and is a killer songwriter. I think this album is my favorite, although I also love her first record and was surprised by how good the album or remixes by various artists was. It's great for background at a party. This one is perfect for listening to on a rainy afternoon by oneself.</p>...

jeamsie says "Great Evening or Rainy Day Music" about Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger

Oh my God, whatever, etc. is my favorite song on this album. Close seconds include Goodnight, Rose (awesome live), and Halloweenhead. Not as immediate as some of his other work, and certainly not the instant classic that Gold or Heartbreaker was, but a vast improvement over Rock and Roll. I love the Rolling Stones-esque honky tonk feel to a few of the tracks. Definitely worth buying the record or seeing the live show if he stops through your town in support of this one....

jeamsie says "Crack open a beer and put this album on" about Hitchhike to Rhome by Old 97's

This is an amazing album by an awesome band. A real classic worth discovering if you haven't. There are drinking songs, love songs, train songs, it's a post-punk band infused with a classic country sensibility. The title track alone is worth the price of the album. Other favorites include St. Ignatius, 504 (this is the area code for New Orleans, LA), Wish the Worst, Drowining in the Days. It's a great album to throw on if you're feeling a little broken-hearted or like you've been done wrong....

jeamsie says "Lovely, lovely, lovely" about Apple iMac 24" Desktop Computer

This was my first foray into the world of macs, and I love it. After the initial frustration, this was easy to use (on top of being absolutely lovely). We had some technical problems with it about a year in, and were thrilled when we took it to the apple store and the genius there was able to replace the entire unit free of charge (and we didn't even have an extended warranty; it was just covered by their standard plan). We were so impressed that we hurried to buy the extended care plan. After years of worthless (and pricey) extended warranty plans from big box stores, I was really thrilled!...

jeamsie says "Great TV for the money" about Dynex - 32" LCD HD Television

Got this TV on sale at Best Buy (with a 10% off offer) for about $200 less than similar televisions and couldn't be happier. Great picture, good sound, and a perfect introduction to the world of flat televisions. The remote is nicely sized and set up is very easy. On the downside, I spent $60 for a HDMI cable to connect it to my HD DVD player, and I honestly can't tell any difference between the picture with the HDMI cable and with the old 3 prong tri-color standard connection. Live and learn!...
