jbgerot says "Best sushi bar in Iowa City/Coralville" about Takanami - Iowa City, IA

You get it all at Takanami! Not only is the sushi to die for, but the atmosphere and staff are excellent. There is a reason this place is always packed. The martini's are also a favorite of mine. The bento boxes are a great choice for lunch, but they have great dinners as well....

jbgerot says "A new generation of cordless mouse" about Logitech MX Revolution Mouse

The Logitech MX revolution has changed my mind about cordless mice. I swore I would never purchase another one. Changing the battery got expensive and the older it got, the more often it needed changed. However, the night chargeable Logitech doesn't need a battery. Just like a cell phone, you charge it when the indicator gets low. The back & forward buttons are nice when viewing web pages and it also has a built in search button. With one click of the page scroller, you can go from a controlled scroll to a free scroll which is much faster. It also has a comfortable design. This is a great mouse for laptops or desktop computers. This one can't be...

jbgerot says "Better off staying at a newer hotel" about Renaissance Des Moines Savery Hotel - Des Moines, IA

We thought it would be neat to stay in a historic downtown hotel with all the amenities. What we got was a very small room, probably 14'x14'. At first glance it looked well maintained. However, the bathroom tile was cracked and stained. The sink fixtures were hard to turn and the toilet did not flush well the first night. After the first room cleaning, we came back to the room and the flush handle on the toilet was broken! Obviously the maid broke it and didn't report it. We didn't get back to our room until very late at night and by that time, it was too late to move us to a new room. We didn't get a discount or even an apology for this. Upon first arriving, one elevator was out of order so the other one had to accommodate all guests. Which means it took quite a long time to get down to the lobby. On our last day, both elevators were broke and we had to walk 8 flights of stairs with all our luggage. It was very frustrating. Next time we'll stay in a newer hotel without all the...
