jazzybean01 says "B.G. - Before Grain, the way nature intended" about Merrick Pet Care Before Grain, Tuna, Dry Cat Food, 11.1 lb

I first came across B.G. - Before Grain at one of the emergency animal shelters during all the fires. I took an extra bag home to try on my cats.

The title of B.G. food explains it all. This cat food is being taken back to before grain was a huge supplement in cats and dogs food. Wild cats didn't go running around eating corn of the stalks and stealing oats from farmers. Before Grain is a well balanced diet of meat protein sources (not grain), fruits, vegetables, and no fillers.

In the tuna flavored cat food the ingredients include deboned tuna, potato, turkey meal, chicken fat (as opposed to animal fat), sweet potato, dried egg, alfalfa, salmon oil, acai berry, blueberry, rosemary extract, chicory root and marigold extract (plus others). B.G. is completely, 100% grain free; like great cat food should be. The 36 percent protein balance is based on before grain was used in commercial pet food. Salmon oil provides Omega 3 fatty acids for healthy skin and shiny coats. Both Acai......

jazzybean01 says "Bones is one of the best crime shows out there" about Bones - Season One

Bones is an absolutely amazing and riveting, crime-drama show. Each main character on Bones is really interesting and fun to watch. They each have their own uniqueness and personality that really brings something to the show as a whole.

Bones is the nickname of Dr. Temperance Brennan, played by Emily Deschanel, an anthropologist at the Jeffersonian. Teamed together with FBI Agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz, they are a crime fighting force. Bones is very cynical and what most would call sheltered. Booth is outgoing and a bit cocky at times. Booth and Bones working relationship is so funny and nutty; it's a big part of the show. It gets really interesting when Bones gets to go out in the field with Booth and she's fascinated with having a gun (because Booth has one). You've got to love Bones personality and humor; she's so funny. It's quite humorous when she doesn't realize that she should tip toe around certain issues; she just goes right for it. Her interaction......

Nana Patekar, Mallika Sherawat, Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar play in Welcome.

Plot: A respectable man is searching for a respectable family for his nephew to marry into. Just when he's found the perfect respectable family and accepted the marriage proposal, he discovers they are actually the biggest mafioso family in town. The hilarious events that ensue will have you rolling on the floor.

What I thought: If you have never seen a Bollywood film, Welcome is a great film to start with. Bollywood movies always have certain elements in every movie and makes for a great and usually very funny film to watch. Many of the musical, dance scenes in Welcome are so ridiculously funny they are kind of lame and you can't help but laugh. The acting and storyline in general is very amusing and you'll laugh through most of this film. Welcome is especially funny because of the mafia based storyline and their quirky personalities. If you don't mind reading subtitles Welcome is a very entertaining......

I write so much and love writing that I am super picky about my pens. So when I ordered the Dr. Grip Center of Gravity Pen for work I was amazed. The description said it had a soft grip but many times it's not soft enough. I still find myself pinching my fingers and getting hand cramps. The grip on the Center of Gravity Pen is perfect. It's soft enough that I can write all day and not get a hand cramp no matter how tightly I hold on to my pen.
I'm also super picky about how a pen writes. I love pens that write softly and not scratchy. I like feeling the nice flow of a pen when writing. The Center of Gravity Pen is a medium ball point pen and writes so smoothly, whether I'm writing on a single page or a stack of pages.
Dr. Grip Center of Gravity Pen boasts "geometrically contoured, wide double layer grip and balanced gripping axis reduce writing stress and alleviate hand fatigue." I don't know how they do it, but this really works and it's always been a joy to use......

Mrs. Brisby's Remembering Game is a cute, fun book for kids to not only read, but interact with as well. The story is about a mouse family in winter who remember things about the summer (such as raspberries). In the book, the things they are remembering have picture and scratch-and-sniff sticker that kids can sniff to remember along with the characters in the book. Not only is Mrs. Brisby's Remembering Game fun, but kids can learn abut different objects in the book. It's a short book that will keep younger kids interest.

I've had this book since I as a child and more than 15 years later the scratch-and-sniff stickers still work....

Old Grind beer comes from the Etna Brewing Co. in Etna, CA. Luckily this is one of those beers I can get readily most everywhere I shop.

Old Grind is a rich and dark porter. Now this is how I thought most porters were until I met some beer professionals and gurus. I still prefer this rich, dark porter. This beer in particular is smooth and creamy, not leaving a bitter after taste in my mouth. It's not a BBQ beer or even a casual drinking with friends beer. This beer is best out of the tap when all the flavors are allowed to breathe and brought forward. Unfortunately not everyone can go to the brewery and taste this beer as it was meant to be tasted; so for those of you who don't have this pleasure, this beer is still a great pour out of the bottle....

Anthony Rapp, Tracie Thoms, Rosario Dawson, Taye Diggs, Jesse L. Martin, Adam Pascal and Wilson Jermaine Heredia play in Rent the movie.

Plot: Rent is about the struggling lives of a group of "artists". They deal with life through grieving, love, AIDS and sticking it to the man.

What I though: Described as rock opera, the actors in Rent our outstanding. It's always interesting to watch a musical and find out that actors you have watched all your life and on your favorite TV show has another gift besides acting; Broadway acting and singing. It's really intriguing watching this other side of their talent. Tracie Thoms regularly plays on Cold Case while Jesse L. Martin plays on Law and Order (deep amazing singing voice).
I like musicals fine, but when this cast had full conversations in song, it was a bit annoying. It wasn't the kind of duologue that should have been sung. The first few songs aren't that great but it definitely gets better. I love Angels' (Heredia) first song......

Reese Witherspoon, Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas play in Sweet Home Alabama.

Plot: Southern belle Melanie has made a sweet life for herself in New York as a clothes designer. She's asked to be married by her charming boyfriend but there's only one hitch; she's already hitched to her high school sweetheart back home. Now Melanie has to go down south to try to get her stubborn husband to divorce her so she can get married and have the life she's always dreamed of and worked so hard for.

What I thought: Sweet Home Alabama is cute, funny and very charming. Both of Witherspoons beaus are hotties; one is a city boy, very refined and charming; the other a country boy, a little rough around the edges and simple. Of course I pick the country boy. Witherspoon is very cute in this movie and I love the accent. I like the country life so of course I like when they go back to her home town and meet all of her friends and family which is a riot. I can watch Sweet Home Alabama over and over......

Andre Gower and Duncan Regehr as Dracula play in The Monster Squad.

Plot: Count Dracula is back and looking to get his hands on an amulet that will give him power over good and evil. To help him he enlists the help of the Wolfman, Gill-Man, Mummy and Frankenstein. The Monster Squad, a group of kids, must stop the evil-doers to keep the balance between good and evil.

What I though: The Monster Squad is a great old classic movie which isn't that old (1987). It definitely has the old cinema makings, which makes it really fun to watch. This film is fun and there's only one gruesome part, which even for an older movie made me shutter. It's not too spooky for young teens. Fun to see all the way they used to make movies. The Monster Squad is a great fun movie to watch during the Halloween time.

The Monster Squad Snack Attack: Air popped popcorn, lightly buttered...

Nicole Kidman, Jude Law and Renee Zellweger play in Cold Mountain.

Plot: Inman (Law) is a wounded Confederate soldier who is trying to get back to his home and the women he loves, Ada (Kidman). As a "traitor" who ditched his unit, he has to sneak around and hide from being shot down. Meanwhile, Ada is trying to piece her life together and wait for Inmans return. Then Ruby (Zellweger) shows up and teaches Ada not only how to survive, but how to live.

What I thought: Well written with gorgeous scenery and beautiful music, Cold Mountain will draw you in to it's story. I'm not a big fan of war scenes so I'm not too thrilled about the first 15 minutes of the film. The violin part of this last section is beautiful and will bring tears to your eyes. Once it moves past the war scenes and into life away from the war it get's more interesting and involved. The part of the story I like is about the girls on the farm. It's heartwarming, tough and funny. The camera work is outstanding......

jazzybean01 says "Pixar has done it again with Wall-E" about Wall-E

I went and saw Wall-E with my parents and I must say, Pixar just keeps getting better and better. One of my families favorite parts on Pixar films are the short animation film before each movie. The one for Wall-E was so freaking cute and I loved the starving bunny. We were cracking up so hard during the short film.

Plot: Wall-E is a cute little robot that is the last living thing on the planet, except for his pet bug (I think it's a cockroach). His soul purpose is to go around and clean things up. Then one day something happens to change all of this and Wall-E goes on a crazy ride!

What I thought: First off I don't really Wall-E is for kids, I didn't hear any kids laughing. My parents and I on the other hand were laughing hysterically. I had to contain myself at certain times so I didn't annoy the other viewers. Some points seemed a little long even though the shots were only 30 seconds long at the most. It just seemed unnecessary. The robots were adorable and the......

jazzybean01 says "I have a riverfront view at My Favorite Place" about My Favorite Place

There's nothing better than taking that windy Highway 49 to Downieville California; which takes me to my favorite place; sitting on the back deck at my parents house; there's nothing better. Watching the stars and listening to the river sweep down below me. It's a magical place. It's the place I go to read. It's a place to relax. Somewhere to listen to nature. It's the place I go on a cold night with sweater on and hot chocolate in hand. It's where I go to kick off my shoes and prop my feet up. Summer or winter. Where my family gets together to sit around the table and laugh. Where old stories are told. Where friends are welcome. Where I come to sit and think. Where I remember good times. Where I ponder the future. At night it's quiet or it's filled with friendly chatter; either way, it's a magical place....

Esoteric is a kick a@@, high energy band that plays heavy metal, reggae and country. I know this may sound weird but they are really good. I have seen them play twice, both at benefits for the North Valley Animal Disaster Group.

Who are they?: Featured in Metal Edge magazine, Esoteric is a band who "shares a common philosophy of positive social and political movement" along with extreme talent. Hailing for Northern California (Chico to be more precise) they are the voice of todays society. Kenny Williams - Front Man, Chris Andersen - Guitars/Vocals, Doug Fletcher - Guitars/ Vocals, Josh Mossi - Bass, Matt Chomistek - Drums.

Esoteric does heavy metal: This is the kind of music you just want to jump up and down to. It's not body slamming stuff but definitley leaves you energized. They've got a slamming drummer, sizzling guitarists, and vocals that will knock your socks off.

Esoteric does country: You would think that a band who sings heavy metal would have raspy, strained voices. ......

jazzybean01 says "The Furminator is the terminator on dog hair" about FURminator Grooming Tool - Large

Okay I'll admit that I don't own The FURminator, my dog is way too short haired for it. However, my sister does and I am totally obsessed with the tool everytime I go to her house. I'm thinking of working at a groomers or vet office just so I can use The FURminator. Heck I'll volunteer my time to be able to use this bad boy and with the soft grip handle I could go for hours.

Why the FURminator works so great: It is a metal comb, yes, but it doesn't actually agitate the dogs skin like other metal brushes, combs, etc. It works to get all the loose fur picked up and not just the top coat, it really works great on the under coat. I've noticed my sisters dogs are less lumpy because the undercoat is getting brushed out. The dogs don't mind this The FURminator at all because it has short teeth close together instead of long teeth spread out that could get stuck in dogs fur and pull and hurt your dog.

I am thinking of purchasing The FURminator and taking it to the shelter with me when......

jazzybean01 says "You don't have to be blood to be Four Brothers" about Four Brothers

Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, Andrè Benjamin, Garrett Hedlund play in Four Brothers.

Plot: After an old woman is murdered in cold blood, her four adopted and delinquent sons come back together to bring her justice Mercer style.

What I thought: Four Brothers is powerful, intriguing and outstanding. The four brothers all give very strong performances. I really liked the storyline and the way the director of photography and the director went in making Four Brothers. There's great action, good believable characters, and good mob like scenes. Mark Wahlberg was excellent. This is not a movie for young kids and maybe not teenagers.

Four Brothers Snack Attack: Brownies just out of the oven (or warmed)
...
