jackieobrown says "Fluffy reading when you're killing time." about US Weekly Magazine

If you're looking for substance or articles on the war and the country's economic status, this is not the place for you. US weekly is fluffy. It's what the pretty, rich people are doing, and how you can look like them. It always has an article about a female celeb who has lost lots of weight, articles on cheap alternatives to expensive fashion, and how to get those makeup tricks like all the hot celebs do. Also who's sleeping with who and who's having a baby to who.

On the bright side, if you're sitting waiting for the doctor, or need something to read in the bathroom, or want the latest dirt on Britney Spears, it does have lots of pictures and quick comments about the whats and wheres of the celebrity world.
...

jackieobrown says "Shooting two guns whilst jumping through the air! Hilarious!" about Hot Fuzz

If you're into British comedy, this is the movie for you. I wasn't a big fan of Shawn of the Dead, because it was just death death death without a lot of plot. But this one was awesome. I loved the quirky little things, like the twin brothers who are at the reception desk at the police station, the mumbly old guys, everything. I will agree with some people that it does start out a little slow, but it's all building up to the incredible ending. The action at the end is over the top rediculously funny. Like in the supermarket battle between the cops and the deli boys, the spaghetti sauce gets hit and explodes all over Andy1's face. Andy2 freaks out, thinking he's been hit! Andy1 says, "It's ok! It's just bolunaise!"

Tons of great one liners that you'll be reciting to yourself for a week. "By the power of grayskull!!" And a really great cast - you can't go wrong with this one. Also be sure to watch the special features of the boys on the road promoting the movie. Brilliant!
...

jackieobrown says "Really great movie - women can really relate!" about Waitress

This was a really great movie, especially for women in their 20s to 30s. We can really relate to her trials and strife as Keri Russell's character is just looking for that little bit of happiness in her life. Also the doctor is super hot. There's really great funny moments, and then moments that will make you cry right along with her.

The saddest part is that Adrienne Shelly, who wrote, costars, and directed (and steals many a scene) was killed last year. You have to watch the special features and check out the memorial that the cast did on the dvd - it shows some behind the scenes footage of her filming and the cast hamming it up. I nearly cried when they reveal that the little girl in the end of the movie (Keri Russel's character's child) was actually Ms. Shelly's real daughter. SO SAD! But its a really really great movie that I've recommended to all my girlfriends.
...
