islandgoil44 says "My ipod's my little buddy" about Apple - iPod Nano (4 GB) MP3 Player

Well, my 2nd generation ipod is my 2nd ipod; my first "mini" died and couldn't be revived by Apple, so.....ran right out and got another, (2nd gen. 4gb....but wish I got 8!) ....why? Number one reason: User-friendly. The click wheel on ipods is by far the easiest to use; you don't even have to look to know where all the functions are, definitely a plus while at work...and the boss wants to chat.... — And as far as iTunes goes....yeah, there may be other online music services that offer "unlimited" downloads.....for a monthly fee. But really, I don't purchase more than $15.00 worth of songs in a month, and that monthly fee would go to waste. — I've had this ipod for 2 years now, with all day use, 5 days a week....no problems. Just happy zippy music, which, in my job is a mood lifter (and is also ok w/ my boss! I get more done!) —...

islandgoil44 says "Great Service, Great Selection" about Netflix

I've been a member of Netflix for a few years now, and I must say, I don't know what I'd do without it! I used to hate going to the video store and stare at shelf after shelf of the same "blockbuster" movies, of which they had fifty copies each :( ..............then came Netflix, YAY! — I like picking out movies at home, at my convenience, with easy to find categories, etc., and Netflix is all that and more. I like that their recommendations are often movies I've never heard of, and would otherwise overlook, but end up being movies I love. :) — I like that it is very easy to upgrade or downgrade your plan...( I tend to watch more movies in the summer, when t.v. is all re-runs) And I love the new feature (although not sure how often I'd use it) of watching movies instantly on your pc! Last Friday there was nothing on t.v., (no big surprise there) so I watched one on the computer! (you can stop/pause/rewind ) No extra charge, and doesn't effect your queue, of...

islandgoil44 says "Great Backpacking Tent w/ Windows!" about Kelty Gunnison 2

I actually bought this tent based on the price and the weight, not really expecting to be so impressed! Lightweight, (4 lbs) its an ideal backpacking tent...the only thing I would change, (and its no biggie) would be if the poles folded up just a little shorter, so it wouldn't stick out when lashed under my pack....But it didn't hinder me in any way... — It has a bathtub floor, and the rainfly covers it completely, VERY important in pouring rain. This awesome little tent has TWO doors and TWO vestibules; great for storing muddy gear you don't want in your sleeping quarters. Very roomy, although so far it's just been me in it. (husband does NOT camp!) But the best thing? The rainfly has windows! No other backpacking tent I've seen (and I've looked at many) has this feature...and what a difference to be able to see the sky even in the pouring rain. :) Also, a nifty little "hammock" you can tie on the ceiling, for your book, or towel, or wet socks... — I...

islandgoil44 says "Can't Wait To Stay Here Again!" about Place De Armes Hotel - New Orleans, LA

If you want a real taste of old New Orleans, The Place De Armes is perfect! The many different buildings enclose enchanting courtyards with swimming pool, fountains, and lush foliage. A lovely spot to relax after a long day... — Our room was quite large (much larger than an average hotel room) and attractively appointed, with exposed brick on the walls (I loved that!). The wonderful and friendly staff only enhanced our stay. We were surprised to find a bottle of champagne in our room when we returned one afternoon! How sweet! (it was our tenth anniversary) — The location is ideal for quick runs to Cafe Dumonde for cafe au lait and beignets, yum! And Jackson Square is steps away, as is the mighty Mississippi. And do eat at Muriels'! — ...
