insanepirate says "Love this GPS !!!" about Magellan - Maestro 4040 GPS Receiver

I love this GPS - bought it 2 weeks before going to Canada for the first time - not only did it guide me everywhere I wanted to go in British COlumbia, it was able to hook into the CAA website and tell me which restaurants gave AAA discounts as well as 1800 numbers for those places -all on the road - also was able to convert system to Metric so we didnt run afoul of Canadian traffic cops !! Will never go on any road trip without it !!!...

insanepirate says "Awesome retelling - a bit "over testosteroneized"" about 300

Awesome movie - remember reading the graphic novel 10 years ago and it was nice but watching the visuals being brought up in real life so vividly is just phenomenal. The action is on steroids. Almost the a ballet of violence though. Obviously with the them being hack and thrust, the character development suffers a bit but this is not a movie that's going to be nominated for best actor/actress anyway. After watching it you do get sense of "where's my sword" feeling for a while though. Would recommend it - 8 out of 10.<br/>...

insanepirate says "Love my pilot !" about Honda Pilot - 2007

I love my pilot - we upgraded to pur pilot from a 2001 Highlanderand there is a tremendous difference - the 3rd row seat is actually fnctional and can seat 2 adults - not the 2 munchkins that could possibly fit in the highlander. Dont bother getting the NAV system - much cheaper to buy a Garmin or Magellan. The in town gas mileage is a bit bad considering the EPA tags it at 18 mpg - we were breaking 15 barely - but the highway is definitely awesome - we averaged 23 on a trip to British Columbia (800 miles) The tank is large and gave a range of 380+miles. Highly recommend getting a DVD player to go on the backs of the head rests cause the Honda ones blocks the rear view window....

insanepirate says "Sucessful ending to a fantastic series" about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This book was a very sucessful ending to a phenomeal series. Even though there were some sagging plotlines in the middle - i.e the Luna subplot, the action was frenetic and very fast paced - the use of Voldemort's childhood and past lives was really well placed as well. The only main issues were that snape did not get fully fleshed out at the end as he should have - it almost seemed that he was an afterthought in the book. On the whole - a 9 out of 10....

insanepirate says "Really great pictures - bad video" about Canon - Digital Camera A640

Image quality and picture modes are awesome - shutter lag is a bit annoying. However video quality is good - just cannot be used using zoom - very annoying. Battery life si good since it uses AA batteries - you probably want to use a fast speed 4GB card else the video will chew up the memory so fast it'll make your head spin. The flash is a bit weak but the image quality is awesome if you set the shutter speed low - all in all I'd give it a 6.0 better to get the powershot....
