infamouspixie says "Not entirely happy camper" about Coleman tent

I recently purchased a Coleman Evanston 8. The hinged door is the best thing since sliced bread! No more unzipping and zipping your tent door every time you need to go in or out, and no flap ducking. It's freaking sweet! Also, I was camped out for a solid week during which there were several storms that brought lots of rain. While I slept tight and dry, nearly everyone around me got soaked. Most of them had economy store brand tents. I can't even repeat the string of cussing that came from a tent right next to me, when a young man woke up " sleeping in a bathtub."

However, it was after my return home that I became very displeased with my Coleman tent. I went to set it up to make sure it dried out and wouldn't mold in storage...and the cord in one of the poles broke. This was only the second time setting this tent up! Thank goodness this hadn't happened out setting up for another event! Because it is not possible to set up a dome tent if the cord is broken in a main pole.

I called...
...

infamouspixie says "Fructis Color Shield, armor for your hair!" about Garnier Fructis Fortifying Cream Conditioner Color Shield

Let me tell you what I just put my hair through.... I'm in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Which is just a long fancy string of words for I spend my weekends in medieval garb and enjoy running around in 20 pounds of armor beating on my friends with sticks. No this is no Ren Fair, no swishing around in pretty gowns on a lovely afternoon. This is out in the hot sun, wind, humidity, and sometimes rain, all afternoon, sweating so much you leave a puddle if you stand in one spot for long. It's not kind to hair to say the least. And me and my (almost waist length) hair just survived a strait week of it! Well, in truth my hair came back less scathed than the rest of me, lol. I've been using Garnier Fructis fortifying cream conditioner Color Shield for three weeks now. Unlike others I've tried, this one didn't leave me with build-up after a while. Which was a great bonus at SCA war, since the showers were often ice cold. I don't think any other shampoo and conditioner I have ever used...
...

infamouspixie says "Best I've tried so far!" about Garnier Fructis Color Shield

I have an abundance of grey hair now. Stark white in fact, and doesn't hold color like it used to. Plus I have oily skin, and of course scalp. I've had a real hard time finding a shampoo that will get my hair really clean without stripping the dye job. I've always liked the Fructis line. It has a nice light fragrance that isn't too floral, and gets your hair really clean. But the Fructis shampoos I used before were too harsh for colored hair. The Color Shield is perfect! I've used Garnier Fructis fortifying shampoo Color Shield for three weeks now and am very satisfied! Even though I just spent a week at an outdoor event where I was in the sun the larger part of every day, and some days took two showers, my color is still as true as the day I left. Plus, despite all the sun, and wind, humidity, and mayhem, my hair is still in great condition! Any shampoo that can wash out a ground in all day combo of sweat, lake water, and campfire smoke, and still leave your hair color in tact, gets...
...

infamouspixie says "Color Vive has been better." about L'Oreal Vive Pro

I regularly used this one before, a few years ago, and was very pleased with it then. I went back to it again recently because, being in the sun a lot again, I noticed that my hair color was fading out really fast. I'm big on what a conditioner leaves my hair smelling like, and this one leaves a nice light fresh scent. It also did reduce the fade of my hair color, and left it well conditioned. I had the impression that it even made my hair a bit stronger and healthier. The only bad thing was that it left such a build up on my hair. I have very fine, curly hair. I don't use hair spray or gels, because any weighty product leaves my hair flat. After several days of using the color vive conditioner, it felt like I had a waxy build up, and my hair wouldn't curl up like normal. The color vive shampoo had no effect on this build up and I would have to use a more stringent shampoo to remove it. Now, several years ago when I used the color vive I didn't experience this. So I'm thinking they must...
...

infamouspixie says "Revlon Color Silk a good bang for the buck" about Revlon Colorsilk Hair Color

My hair color is...subject to change without notice, lol. I've used almost every home hair color brand there is and Color Silk is one of the better ones. Better than some which cost a lot more! One of the things I like about it is the smell it leaves on your hair. Some of them actually leave a chemical stink and/or smell real strong for several days. This one has a pleasant fragrance, but also one that doesn't linger for days and days. There is another brand which I somewhat prefer, mostly because of the applicator bottle, but Color Silk wins hands down on price. I have gotten it for as little as $2.00 by purchasing a twin pack. The color results sometimes don't match quite what is shown on the box for some shades (particularly the blond shades) but once you try a few and figure out the right shade to use, it's all good and you are saving a small fortune. It really saves ME a bundle since I currently have my hair lighter on top (to reduce the show of bright white gray roots as they come...
...

infamouspixie says "Holmes Odor Grabber really grabs odors" about Holmes Air Purifer - Odor Grabber

I've bought a number of air cleaners over the years that didn't work worth a hoot. This one does! I've purchased a total of four of these. The first one I bought several years ago for an allergic boyfriend who had a chain-smoking roommate with a huge cat. The rest of the house smelled like a giant ash tray, but with the Odor Grabber running in his room, IT was odor free. It did not however prevent waking up in the middle of the night to find the cat sleeping on your butt, lol. I purchased a second one for my own home after my son started having chronic bronchitis. I eventually found out we had mildew in the walls, but the Odor Grabber really helped my son's allergies and reduced the frequency of his bouts with bronchitis until I could sell the house and move us. It worked so well that I later bought one for my mother who has always had hay fever and asthma. And when my son moved out and took the Odor Grabber with him, I bought another one for myself. The Holmes Odor Grabber also has...
...

infamouspixie says "Gillette Fusion - best shave, cheaper than disposable razors" about Gillette Fusion Razor

The first time I shaved my legs it was with my father's single edge razor. One of those old things you screwed the head open by twisting the handle, and dropped in one of those blades you would later dispose of through a slot in the back of the medicine cabinet. So suffice it to say I have seen a lot of innovations in razors over the years, from wires over the blade to keep you from cutting yourself, to strips of moisturizer, to twin, triple, four blade, and five blade razors. The triple blade razors were great, and after that I thought, "ok more blades are just some gimmick to sell new razors", but I was wrong. The Gillette Fusion is by far the best razor yet. I get a nice close, smooth shave, have never cut myself, and the blades last a really long time. I'm a product of German genes. Which means that for me shaving is not just a matter of removing peach fuzz, and not just my legs, yet I only have to change the blade about twice a year. And that means blades for my Fusion cost me...
...
