ihasanopinion says "I hate reality shows, but I love this one." about Project Runway

I can't stand reality shows. People thrown together into artificial situations for no reason besides my "entertainment"--that idea makes my skin crawl. I love Project Runway, because although it is people thrown together into an artificial situation, they are all good at something I cannot do. I love watching them make beautiful (or impressively ugly) clothes every week, I love watching the creative personalities clash (or work together in surprising ways), I love watching the judges tear apart the clothing on the runway, and I love Tim Gunn with all my heart. The fact that the show remains interesting to me even on second or third viewings of the same episode surprises and delights me. Bravo is doing something VERY right here....

ihasanopinion says "It's about people, not football." about Friday Night Lights

My friends kept telling me to watch this show, but I didn't listen. I like football, but I sure didn't want to watch an hour-long drama about it. One night when I was sick, I started watching an episode online. I watched all the episodes online before I got well, and anxiously awaited the next week. The characters are so believable, I feel like I know them. I remember all their names, because they seem real. I love the football scenes because they anchor all the stories and give the characters something to experience together (in different ways), but it's not at all about football, it's about these people. The show is beautifully shot, with beautiful actors. The art direction is phenomenal. I completely believe the houses, the school, the town, the football stadium. The music they use in the soundtrack is always just right, and nothing in the atmosphere of the show ever seems like product placement. I'm so glad it made it to the second season, and I hope it lasts a......

ihasanopinion says "It keeps me coming back for more." about Heroes

One of the reasons I gave this show a chance was because the episodes were available on the NBC website; I am very busy, and can't always be sitting at home on Monday nights to watch the episodes as they air. I am so glad I did. Even though it slipped a little earlier this (second) season, it was mainly because the producers and writers were trying new things that didn't quite work out. I can't fault good shows for trying new things, it's what keeps them from becoming formulaic. The creator admitted that they took some missteps, but it has remained one of my favorite shows I've seen in recent years. I really care what happens to the characters, and the writers tend to satisfy my hopeful predictions and surprise me in equal amounts. It's always creative, and the actors they hire are generally perfect for their roles. A great show, and one I've hooked several of my friends on....

ihasanopinion says "SparkPeople has helped me change my life." about Sparkpeople

SparkPeople is very easy to use, and walks you through their program slowly and clearly. It's not as much a diet as it is a web site that teaches you how to develop healthy habits and get rid of bad ones, and it stresses a positive outlook and a healthy lifestyle. I've lost 18 pounds so far, and feel better than I have in years because I'm finally eating a healthy, balanced diet. The web forums are so supportive, and I feel like I've learned more on this site than I ever knew before about what I should eat and why. I recommend it to all my friends, those who eat too much, those who eat too little, and those who eat the wrong things....

ihasanopinion says "I get free stuff for looking at ads I'd end up seeing anyway." about MyPoints

I've been a member of MyPoints for several years now, and am amazed at how many gift cards I've received just for using their site. I have to read ads, yes, but I'm bombarded with ads throughout my life that I get nothing in exchange for reading. The customer service for MyPoints is really responsive, as well, which is especially nice for a site where I rarely spend any actual money. I love it....
