icefig11 says "Polygamy Life" about Big Love

Bill Paxton plays Bill Hendrickson, a man with a lot on his plate. Three families to be exact. In addition to running his business and trying to outsmart a crazy prophet, Bill must be a devoted family man to each and every one of his three wives and the children he sired with each.

In addition, Bill must keep the outside world from discovering that he practices polygamy. The series shows the trials and tribulations of each of his families and how they try to reconcile their limited time with Bill. The wives alternate between being loving 'sisters' and firce rivals for Bill's time and affection.

'Big Love' is surprisingly interesting and the acting is good. Ultimately, it's the story of a different kind of family and the struggles their alternate lifestyle brings.
...

icefig11 says "Royally Entertaining" about The Tudors

'The Tudors is a surprisingly opulent Showtime series of the court and times of Henry the VIII. The acting is superb and the story is engrossing. The costumes and sets are richly detailed.

The only downside to this series is that it feels comfortable adding details that have no basis in fact. The story of the life of Henry the VII is interesting enough that it doesn't need to be altered. I hope that the writers will stop rewriting history and especially, stop combining the actions of two different people into one character because it mars what would otherwise be a perfect series.
...

icefig11 says "Who Would Have Thought You Could Like a Serial Killer?" about Dexter

Who would have thought you could like a serial killer?

'Dexter' has some of the best writing and character development to come along in a long time. The characters on the show are fleshed out and you grow to know them all.

Dexter is the main attraction, though. Dexter works for the police department as a blood splatter expert and Dexter kills murderers. Dexter kills many murderers, making him a serial killer that the police are desperate to catch. He has strict criteria for his victims to meet before they can become victims. Dexter is an extremely likeable character, despite his gruesome hobby. The audience finds itself pulling for Dexter to outwit everyone and not be caught. Dexter is a serial killer with a well developed sense of humor. Some of the best scenes are those told through Dexter's thoughts.

The plot is also helped along through flashbacks to Dexter's childhood. As Dexter discovers what drives him, so do we. Trained by his police officer father, Dexter has become a cautious, careful,...
...

icefig11 says "Zero Stars" about Bewitched

I'm surprised that this movie is so bad. I knew that it would be hard to match the chemistry of the original 'Bewitched' series so I was prepared not to compare it to the original.

Not a chance of that. It's nothing like the originaal TV series. How could anyone think this is a good script? It's terrible. It's not funny, it's not cute, it's a waste of time to sit through it. To make it even worse, the acting is on par with the script.

Save your money. Save your time. This one isn't even worth the trouble to turn on the television set.
...

icefig11 says "Excellent Service and Flowers" about Hallmark Flowers

I love www.hallmark.com!

I have sent AND received their flowers and gifts and there's nothing to dislike. As a sender, I know that the person will receive fresh flowers that are beautifully arranged. As a recipient, I know the same. I have never had anything but good experiences and I would recommend Hallmark.com to anyone....
