hzg74c says "Bounce Dryer Bar works well but not perfectly." about Bounce Dryer Bar

I like the idea of the Bounce Dryer Bar and like it a lot, but it's not perfect. I like the available scents, and that you don't have to remember if you added a dryer sheet or not. I like that I'm not finding dryer sheets stuck to my clothes. However, when I use it with some of our blankets or some of the baby's thicker clothing, the clothes come out a little staticky. So I continue to use it and will likely keep buying it, but a few of my clothes have static....

hzg74c says "Shiner Bock is a little taste of home." about Shiner Shiner Bock

I'm a displaced Texan and have a very hard time finding my favorite beer, Shiner Bock, up here in Maryland. There are some establishments I frequent primarily because they carry my preferred beer.

Shiner Bock is a lovely blend of a clean, crisp beer with the flavor of a more European beer. I also highly recommend you try the seasonal varieties if you come across them.
...

hzg74c says "Delicious and nutritious, but hard to find." about S. Rosen's Healthy Multi-Grain Bread with Sesame & Poppy Seeds

I absolutely love S. Rosen's bread line and finally got to try their multi-grain bread. This stuff is delicious and allows you to eat healthy with sacrificing taste. This bread is substantial and reminds me of the good bread you get at nice resturants. The only problem I have is finding it...it seems to only be available in Illinois, so I get it whenever I travel to that part of the country.
...

hzg74c says "Great for the little ones, but a bit expensive." about Sesame Place

We took my daughter to Sesame Place just before she turned 2 (when her ticket was still free). She loved the attractions she was able to play on, but many of them were a bit much for her. She loved seeing the characters from a distance but was a bit afraid of them close up. This park would be great for the 4-5 year old crowd, but I imagine a 7yo would rather go somewhere else.

We went on a weekday in July. I recommend going on a weekday; I can't imagine how crowded it must get on weekends. Tickets and food were expensive, similar to other attractions in the area.

I was disappointed that the "cast members" didn't enforce height requirements on attractions for the smaller kids. Tiny kids have only a few attractions geared toward them and it wasn't fun when larger kids were bumping into them.

I also suggest having a room at a nearby hotel for an air conditioned nap time, for kids and parents.
...

hzg74c says "I've used Discover since 1988" about Discover - Discover Card Cashback Bonus

I've used Discover Card since 1988, the first card who would extend me credit in my own name. When somebody stole my number and tried to use it, they called to inform me, cancelled my number and quickly issued me a new one, and made sure I wasn't responsible for the charges. When I divorced and changed my name, they quickly issued me a new number with my name changed; the customer service rep asked in a genuine way if there was anything else they could do and even wished me good luck!

I pay off my card in full every month, so I'm not sure of their interest rates or fees. I only missed a payment once, called and talked to customer service, and they waived the fee.

I charge most things on my Discover. They have no annual fee and I earn at least $100 cash back each year.
...

hzg74c says "My Moby has been a lifesaver!" about Moby Wrap

I received my Moby as a gift with my first child and used it with some frequency. It always got comments from people in the stores worried that I was cutting off my daughter's circulation. My daughter, however, loved the Moby and sleep in it comfortably when she wouldn't sleep anywhere else. It allowed me to snuggle with her and still get things done around the house.

Now I'm using the Moby with my son and have gotten much quicker at taking it on and off. My second child also loves the Moby.

We travel a lot and found the Moby easy to wear in airports and on planes, easy to fold up and throw in a diaper bag, and quick to transfer from me to my husband since you don't have to mess with lots of buckles and straps.

I recommend you purchase this a few weeks before baby is born, read the instructions on how to use it, and even practice with a baby-sized doll to get the hang of it before trying with your wiggly newborn.
...

hzg74c says "Lansinoh milk storage bags work better than the rest" about Lansinoh Breast Milk Storage Bags

I tried a variety of toher milk storage bags and they were either hard to use, leaked, or didn't protect the milk well. I liked the Lansinoh brand from having used their lanolin products, so I gave theirs a try.

I like that the bottom of the bag expands to stand up on the counter. I like the double seal at the top to protect against leakage and freezer burn. It has a space at the top to write the date and amount, and a scale on the side so you know how much milk is in the bag (before it freezes). I've never had one leak! This is the only milk storage bag I'm using with my second child and the only one I would recommend to others.
...

hzg74c says "Earth's Best helps me feel better about what my baby eats." about Earth's Best Organic Baby Food

I'm a mom of 2 who tries to provide healthy food for my kids. When my oldest was an infant, I fortunately stumbled across Earth's Best in the health food store. My daughter actually liked most of the flavors, they didn't taste bad to me, and I easily recognized all of the ingredients listed on the jar.

I feel good about the glass jars, which I recycle.

The stage 1 and 2 foods are fairly easy to find, but I could only find stage 3 foods in the health food store. They are slightly more expensive, but I know what I'm feeding my child.
...

hzg74c says "My daughter loved YoBaby Yogurt" about Stonyfield Farms Organic YoBaby Yogurt

My daughter was always taking antibiotics for ear infections, so the doctor suggested she eat yogurt. I found YoBaby in the store, which has cultures and either extra iron or DHA added depending on the flavor. Fortunately my daughter loved all the flavors we tried, and they are a good portion size for her. They tasted good to me, too.

I love that they're organic. The only things I dislike are the added sugar and the price. However, I always managed to have a coupon for this product to offset the cost.
...

hzg74c says "Huggies Supreme Natural Fit are clearly better than any other." about Huggies Natural Fit Diapers

This is my second child and we are only using Huggies Supreme Natural Fit diapers on him. When our first child was born, we were given a wide variety of diapers among our gifts. The only brand that consistently stopped leaks was Huggies Supreme. As frugal as I am, I try to cut out all unnecessary expenses, but these are still worth the extra cost. I wait until they are on sale, combine with coupons, and stock up on the next size I'll need.

I'm especially glad the newborn diapers now have a stripe on them that changes colors when they're wet. It makes the diaper easier to check without waking the baby. I only wish some of the larger sizes had this as well.
...

hzg74c says "Dr. Brown's is a hassle to clean but SOOOO worth it." about Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottle

This is my second child and I've used Dr. Brown's 4 oz bottles for both. They are a pain to clean, with all the small parts to wash, but SOOO worth it. My daughter rarely suffered from gas or spit up after drinking from a Dr. Brown's bottle, which made things more pleasant for us both. This was not the case with other bottles we tried. My son is now 6 weeks old and we only use Dr. Brown's. He is not distressed by swallowing air and accepts the bottle whenever it's offered. I feel better knowning the bottles are now safer, but I still hand-wash them instead of putting them in the dishwasher.

We have 6 of the 4 oz bottles and 6 of the 8oz bottles, which seems to be enough for my child. I breastfeed, but will be sending him to daycare in a few weeks so it's good to have a few extra bottles available.
...
