hopenr says "Who doesn't love a war time drama????" about Atonement

I love war movies, I am only 31 but I was clearly born in the wrong era judging from most of my tastes. This includes, my romanticizing of WWII. It's wrong I know, I've done the research I know, I know. Geeze, but still the 40's hold a place with me, forget that I was born in the late 70's. I long for orange juice can curls, red lipstick, and boys with grease in their hair and trouble in their smile. I really like Keira K as an actress, I actually do find her believable no matter what period dress she's poured into. and James McAvoy... good gravy, is he the dreamiest thing ever or what.... holy smokes. So to see their tortured romance, nice and steamy moment, and the emotion surrounding, with a WWII backdrop... I was sold before the first words were spoken, I was not disappointed. — — —...

hopenr says "Oh Cormac, I adore you." about No Country for Old Men (Book)

Let me start by saying I ADORE Cormac McCarthy. He is hands down my favorite author, so call me biased when I say I loved this book as well. Not much more to say, everyone has an opinion, but if you like men of little words and tons of description, feeling and tone. then Mr. McCarthy is for you. — — —...

hopenr says "It's just okay, not fantastic or anything." about Samsung - hue Cell Phone

This is my first "high tech" cell phone. The one I had before was the kind in a bag for crying out loud. I think it's clear that it took some getting used to when I finally got the old Samsung Hue. I got a pretty good deal, 2 for 1 so my husband finally got his own phone, yippee, and I only spent about $20 for them. Never mind about the plan, that's a whole different bag of worms. I like my phone alright, it's got a camera, and texting capabilities, and other fancy standard stuff too. the one thing I do not like about it is that you cannot make your own ringtone like other phones. I have a memory card in mine to save my pictures and all that but alas, can't have Justin Timberlake croon to me when I have a call??? and if I do, I have to pay an arm and a leg just to get some instrumental version of some lame old song off a specific list??? Well that's just crazy talk. I guess if I was younger or hipper I would be jazzed about the variety of "skins" I can buy to make my phone's outside...

hopenr says " An Energy Bar that doesn't taste like cardboard." about Balance Gold Nutrition Energy Bar

Balance Gold bars in chocolate peanut butter flavor are the bomb. I have tried numerous different brands of energy bars in the past. In my family we like to think of ourselves as very "European" in the sense that we don't eat dinner until about 8:30pm. (most people here in Nebraska eat at about 6 pm or sooner). My daughter has a late karate class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and on the other days of the week if we are not at the gym we are out taking walks or just hanging out outside, weather permitting. — I've gotten off track but here's my point. I throw a Balance Gold bar into my bag and also chuck one at my daughter to eat and we actually feel fuller, better, and we really do have more energy. As everyone knows it takes work to get off the couch and out to the gym so it's nice to hoof down one of these delicious little bars of chocolaty peanut butter goodness and then get moving and shaking. Now I have only tried the chocolate peanut...

hopenr says "Smells great, moisturizes not so great" about Suave Exhale Calming Body Lotion in Lavender Vanilla Scent

I am really into the whole Lavender Vanilla combo scents right now. I've got the laundry soap, dryer sheets, room sprays and now a body lotion that fit's the el cheapo budget I'm on. I think the scent smells like the beach, really nice and genuinely calming, the scent doesn't last long and that's a nice aspect too. My husband seems convinced that it smells like tuna salad, therefore he mocks me relentlessly whenever I put it on. But who cares what the boys say right? This is a pretty thin lotion, and is great right out of the shower, but doesn't seem to really soak in, it's more about the scent. so keep that in mind if you choose to try it. It's less than $3.00 bucks a bottle at my local Target. All in all, pretty great product, but I think I'll buy something new the next time around. — — —...

hopenr says "$3 to look super??? You got it!!!!" about Revlon Colorsilk

I use this coloring every 6 weeks. It has never done anything more than color my hair perfectly with nice natural color. It has a decent scent, unlike other haircolor brand's I've used in the past. I love that it's only $3 and most of the time there's a coupon in the box for $.75 off the next one anyway. There is so reason to pay more for haircolor than you should have to. This is fantastic stuff....

I bought my Elantra just 3 months ago, and I absolutely LOVE it. it's the best car I've ever owned. It has excellent gas mileage, it only takes 1 tank every 2 weeks with my daily driving schedule, and that's a real deal. It's very comfortable, and had tons of storage compartments, and a sunroof ta boot. Love it....

hopenr says "Very nice and light for summer" about Revlon Colorstay Mineral Powder Makeup

The Revlon Colorstay mineral makeup is very nice for summer, or any warm climate. The container is nice, the brush clicks open, so it does not get bent bristles. The makeup itself is very blend-able, and comes in a wide variety of shades. It really does last all day, and doesn't begin to feel greasy or itchy. It's a reasonable price and lasts a long time as well....

I love this product for a fall/winter foundation, however in the summer, or any hot, humid day it's not the best. I've found it makes my face very itchy when I sweat. The coverage stays very well, and gives a glowing look to my skin though....
