hobag says "The rolls are good...and so is the food, but..." about O'Charleys - Kirkwood, MO

Our last visit here to O'Charley's was by default. They weren't crowded as opposed to the restaurant we wanted to go to next door was packed with a 1 hour waiting time. I found out why...

Service was ok but very slow. We had to ask 4 out of 5 times we needed a drink refill or more hot rolls. The hot rolls are very good, but they are stingy with them and it takes forever to get more when you need them.

The food we ordered was good (we ordered the buffalo chicken and some sort of chicken parmesan or italian sandwich...both came with fries) , but I feel it was not a good value. The menu in my opinion didn't have many choices which you think would speed service and keep prices down, but that was not the case.

They do offer TV's and everyone seemed very interested in the game, but i'm not sure if that was to entertain us because we had to wait or it was the reason we did wait!!??

Overall, it was good but not worth the wait or the value.

hobag says "Good steak burgers...if you can afford to eat out." about Steak 'n Shake - St. Louis, MO

I really enjoy a good burger but lately have had to resort to value menus. Their "steak-burgers", are good, but pricy in my opinion for what you get. The fries are good if you get them right away...many times my fries have been cold by the time they get to our table.

Some things still surprise me about Steak 'n Shake's breakfast really isn't too bad, but I can visit a buffet for about the same price.

On the up side, if you like chili in a variety of dishes, this is the place to go. They have Chili three way, chili five way and a few other combinations I cant remember right now, or you can choose chili as a side with your meal. It is pretty good, pretty much like my basic home made recipe I use at home.

Their menu does offer a variety of choices, but for me, that does not out weigh the costs. In the state of the economy today, I need a coupon...which they do offer frequently in the news paper, but lately, I have resorted to trying to copy my faves at home.
...

hobag says "looking out for my family...american family" about American Family Insurance

We have been with American Family Insurance for many, many years now. We insure our home and property, our recreational vehicle, our pull behind box trailer, two Kawasaki motorcycles for use off road, a Dodge Ram truck, a Ford Explorer and my son's sports car. We receive discounts for his good grades and for having multiple types of insurance policies with the company. They are located right here in my home town and are always very helpful in filing a claim. When we have suffered a loss, they are very quick to respond and resolve the problem or damages as soon as possible. They allow us to pay our premiums broken down into monthly payments which really helps with our budget...especially with the economy being what it is today. From time to time, our agent will give us hints and tips concerning adjusting premiums, deductibles and the like to assure we are getting the most out of our coverage. They are very friendly and easy to work with.
...
