hidinginidaho says "The best protection for pet shedding!" about FURminator Large

We love our Furminator! It was recommended to us by a pet groomer. When I saw the price, I was a bit hesitant. Thinking about how much I have spent on cheaper animal brushes, I decided to buy it. All the animals love it! Mr. Kitty won't go to bed until he has been brushed. He's a big gray fur ball, so it has really thinned out his coat quite a bit. He must like it, or he wouldn't sit still for it.

We also use this on our 120 pound black lab. He loves it, too. The Furminator actually gets out those loose hairs that other brushes don't. It makes having such a large animal in the house not look like it. It really helps to keep shedding to a minimum.

I do recommend getting a smaller size if you are using it on a small animal. This works for all the animals, but a small brush would make grooming Mr. Kitty a little easier.
...

hidinginidaho says "The answer to the "litterbox smell" problem" about Littermaid Automatic Self Cleaning Litter Box LM700

We love this, and so does our now spoiled cat. I hate cleaning the litter-box, but I hate the litter-box smell worse. I bought this as a splurge, and now recommend it to everyone with a cat. I have to clean the litter-box about every 5 days. We have a huge male kitty, so as he's grown, the time between cleanings has shortened. That's not a real problem, just the fact of owning a big kitty. He loves that his litter is always clean. He even goes there to cough up his hairballs. There is still a minute of basic cleaning that must be done, but the whole process is really easy. I did have to call customer support, so I learned a few tricks. If you have questions about yours, don't hesitate to call them, just clean it out first, it will be a lot easier on you that way. I love how the house never smells like kitty poo. Well, it does for about 5 minutes after he goes, until the automatic rake starts. But I can always go run the rake if I need to with just the push of a......

hidinginidaho says "Not for use in your guest bathroom, tub scrubbing required" about Crayola Bathtub Tints

I am not a fan of Crayola Bathtub Tints. We received some as a gift. We used them but found them to temporarily stain. If you are too busy to scrub the tub, they will wash away after a few showers. If you have a darker colored bath tub, this will probably not be a problem. But the tub looks like someone just finished finger painting, and didn't rinse it all down the drain. We are passing our on to a friend with kids that have a blue tub from the 70's. The color problem should not be a problem for them.

If you use these in a bathroom that is also used for guests, plan on scrubbing after you put the kids to bed.
...

hidinginidaho says "Save money sanity & the environment; the closest thing disposabl" about Bum Genius 2.0 Diapers

I am a three time mom. As the years go by, I become more earth conscience. I've realized that by doing things to save money, I can help the earth to. When my husband and I decided that I should consider staying home rather than returning to work with this baby, I began to explore options to cut costs as dramatically as we had cut our income (we are an equal earner home). I already knew that I would be breastfeeding, (talk about saving on formula!), what else could I do? I put myself on every hand me down clothing list of family and friends. One of whom let me on to the newer style of cloth diapers.

She actually recommended another brand, combined with sewing my own (yeah right). I did extensive research, and found Bum Genius version 2.0. Am I ever glad that I came across these! I discovered that it takes about a dozen a day, and you do want to wash these everyday.. Bum Genius 2.0 is an all-in-one diaper, that means no plastic diaper covers. And unlike other all-in-ones,...
...

hidinginidaho says "Really intended for the kid at heart, not a real kid." about Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

We took our 8 year old and 5 year old to Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. The kids really liked the magical aspect of it, but didn't really understand it. Here's my review, without giving away too much of the plot line. The adults really liked it, the ending was a bit lame, but completely set up for a sequel. Much of the detail went right over the kids heads. The movie moved slowly enough, but the plots were more grown-up than my kids are used to. If you take your children to this movie, be prepared to explain death. Though handled in the most appropriate, non-denominational, way, I would rather have taken my kids to a more age appropriate movie, or just stayed home.

That said, Grandma went with us, and was really taken by the special effects. It's reminiscent of the days of true, kids running wild toy stores. I'd actually recommend it for all of us grown up kids, looking for a way to reconnect with your childhood.
...
