hellerlp says "It's lot of hype" about Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup

This make-up was so disappointing to me. I totally bought into the endorsements of the stars who promote it and it just doesn't deliver.

First, you get the tiniest jars for your money. It's laughable at the size of the make up you get for your money. Secondly, it just dosen't do what it says. I didn't get a "flawless" complexion (and I have pretty good skin to start with). The concealer is heavy and difficult to blend into a "normal" appearance on the skin (so you don't look like you have war paint on), but once it's blended it works okay.

I was also counting on it being "good for my skin". The concealer causes beak-outs and there isn't anything about the powder that's coverage enough to cause anything (coverage or breakouts) Also, if you are counting on the sunscreen portion of their claim, forget it! Got burned the second day I used it.

Over-all, an expensive disappointing infomercial that, if you're smart, you won't get sold by!
...

hellerlp says "Pricey, and not necessarily HOPE in a jar" about Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer All Skin Types

If you are looking for any skin cream to give you that "10 years younger" appearance, you are going to be disappointed in all of them. The truth is (and science will back me up on this claim) that no skin cream has the ability to take "years off your face". If you've not been taking care of your skin all along, you can't hit 50 and just expect it to respond to whatever you do.

Theis is a fairly good moisture cream, and will hydrate the skin, but if you are having any problems with adult acne break-out's, this will make them worse.

The real key element to great skin is proper nutrition and LOTS of H2O. Drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and use a good skin reginem, and you will look as good as mother nature is going to allow you to at whatever age you are. Don't expect a mericle "in a jar".

...

hellerlp says "Great Product, but will make you sleepy" about Zyrtec Allergy Medicine

If taken at night, you'll get a great night's sleep and should wake up symptom-free the next day. Zyrtec has a fair amount of Benedryl (dyphenhydramine) as part of it's chemical make-up so, it will make you sleepy. I take at night and iwake up symptom free the whole next day.

It's definately a product I would recommend. It's still covered by some Insurance companies, even though it's gone over-the-counter, so if you get your MD to write you a prescription, you have a chance that it will be covered by Insurance. Otherwise, it's pretty pricey as an over-the-counter medication. No generic have been made available for Zyrtec yet, so if you need a substitute that you can afford (although not as great a medication ) you can try Claritin (or Loratadine - generic). It may work for you and it's generic over-the-counter brand Loratidine makes it an affordable option for everyone.
...

hellerlp says "The difference in her skin was remarkable" about Natural Balance Vegeterian

Daisey we saved from the pound as a puppy. She's part Golden Retriever and pas Sheltie. SHe a pretty adorable mutt, but when we got her she immediately started having skin problems. We spent months going to the vet because she would scratch so much she would cause sking infections that would need to be treated.

Our vet inally recommended going to an all Vegeterian food and it was amazing. She not longer itched and her coat grew back. It was the differnce between night and day for her. She's 5 now and she's still on the same Natures Balance Vegeterian food. We pay a bit more for her food, but she's worth it.
...

hellerlp says "It can truely save your life...." about Bariatric Surgery Surgical Procedure

I had Bariatric surgery 5 years ago and it saved me...from myself. For those of you still in denial about how you got so obese, let me clue you in. You ARE NOT "BIG BONED", "just have a slow metabolism", "have a thyroid condition", or have "Inherited" obesity (there-by giving you the excuse to be fat yourself). Peope who are truely obese are.....by choice. The sooner you take that step, the sooner you WON'T die from weight related complications.

You are obese because you didn't care enough about yourself (for whatever reason- go to therapy for that one) to not kill yourself with your DRUG OF CHOICE....FOOD! I say ALL this as a women who was over 350 lbs. I DO NOT say it as an "ex-food addict reformed", but simply as, hopefully, the most honest communication you might have about the fact that you are obese. You are a food-aholic and so am I....and everyday, I have to wake up and remind myself.."I won't over-eat today". It NEVER gets easier...you simply get to a place where you are more afraid...
...

hellerlp says "The worst Pediatrician I have ever known" about Dr.Cliff Crawford - - Duluth, GA

If you ever have the occasion to have to be seen at The Immediate Care Center at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, make sure it isn't by Dr. Cliff Crawford.

What Dr. Crawford lacks in bedside manner he makes up for in rude and insulting behavior. No child is a "crisis" to Dr. Crawford, he's simply there to collect a paycheck. The is a prime example of a man who should have "gotten out of the game" a long time ago, but as hung on well beyond his acceptable "shelf life".

As a former nurse of his, people might say that this is an opinion generated from personal views. I can assure it isn't. On a personal level, Dr. Crawford never knew how I felt about him, but in my own experience as a parent having him treat my own children, is where my views are generated.

He has received numerous complaints, which the managing physician has chosen to ignore, from other parents who came to the center and would refuse to see him if he was on duty. As a nurse, you can see how that might have presented a problem,...
...
