groovykarma1161 says "A mother's best friend" about Mylicon Infants' Gas Relief Drops - Dye Free

Nanny to two babies. The babies were both breast fed while with their mothers'. I use dr. Brown's bottles with the air flow vents but they still had a tiny bit of gas/collick issues. When needed I will use these drops as suggested by their pediatrician. These are very safe for the babies and within a few minutes the 'bubble' will come up.

Some babies are difficult to burp and this was the case with the two babies in my care. I would recommend Mylacon Gas Relief Drops to all mothers and would even include in a baby shower gift !

A small bottle of Mylacon Gas Relief Drops lasts quiet a while if used in conjunction with the Dr. Brown's baby bottles (which reduces much of the air flow assciated with gas/collick).
...

groovykarma1161 says "not worth the money" about Starbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drink

These do not even taste like coffee. They taste like sweetened milk. Where's the coffee?

Starbucks really messed up with this one. I go to their shops quite often and buy their brewed coffee and beans. I tried this more than once; all the flavors, and all I can think of is this is being sold so people can get their sugar rush.
...

groovykarma1161 says "safe fun for any age child" about Mega Bloks 80-piece maxi bag

I am a nanny caring for two babies. The one year old had started stacking items and learning her colors, etc. I purchased the Mega blocks for her and she loves stacking them together, she is learning her colors, learning to put together and take apart, and will spend over an hour playing with them. they are easy to attach and take apart which is necessary for preschoolers while learning their dexterity.

They are safe and they don't hurt if you step on them (LOL) like the tiny ones do. I like how there are a variety of packages you can purchase. You can add on to your collection with different characters. This is not an individual toy but one several children can play with at the same time.

These are timeless toys that your grandchildren will like to play with. I enjoy sitting with her and playing with her and we laugh and talk about colors and count while playing. This is educational for several reasons including dexterity. This is a 'must' for every parent. They are durable and easy to...
...

groovykarma1161 says "a dressmakers dream of what scissors would be like" about Gingher Scissor 5" Knife Edge Tailor

I tried my first pair of Gingher shears/scissors 14 years ago and have been hooked every since. I have several health issues and was mentioning to a manager at a fabric store how I had to do a project in little steps since the pain of using the shears/scissors was a real issue. I had tried the rotary cutter and that did not help. She asked me what kind of shears/scissors I currently used and I mentioned the Fiskars and the Mundial. She opened a box with the Gingher in them and said " these cost twice as much but with the coupon in our flyer I can let you have them for $17.00; now, try them before you say no to the price."

I tried them; and they cut like butter. I was sold. I bought two pair; one for my cotton fabrics and one for my poly blend fabrics. If you are a seamstress you will know that poly blends dull your shears/scissors faster than cotton. Since then I have watched for sales and have added to my collection. I have every size they make now and I don't have the aggravated pain and...
...

groovykarma1161 says "This company cares about babies and the families" about Luvs Diapers

I am a full time nanny for two infants. I tried the big expensive brand names and really liked them; but, I didn't like the price. I went to BJ's and tried their brand name two years ago and they worked 'ok' except as the babies' aged they didn't work very well during the long nights. I saw the price on Luvs diapers and decided to try them as they were just a couple dollars more than the BJ's brand; and ten dollars cheaper than the name brand. Well, I've been hooked every since! They are great! They work equally as well for a baby boy as they do a baby girl. If you have had the comparison you will know what I mean. You need the absorbency for the directional shooter. Now if Luvs can sell their diapers with such good quality at a near to generic price; why can't the other diaper companies? The big value box of 194-216 diapers at $25. is a great price. the other companies don't give as many diapers and they charge ten dollars more? I am loyal to Luvs and will be as long as they are...
...

groovykarma1161 says "next best thing to breast feeding there is" about Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Baby Bottle

I am a nanny and two infants had gas/collick issues. I saw an add describing these bottles and decided to try them. The babies' mother was pumping and storing the milk; breast feeding while at home. I tried the Dr. Brown's bottles and the gas/collick issues were 95% gone. The babies were swollowing too much air with the conventional bottles and these bottles have a vent system built in. The bottles have a two piece insert that controls and vents the air. I would sugget that you immediately hand wash the bottles after each use and get in the habit of doing this. That way you will not have a 'hassle' every time you wash and sterilize the bottles. The extra minute it takes to wash these properly is worth it when you consider the gas pains and tears of an infant. I wish these had been around when my babies were infants. Many kudos to the inventor!!! One suggestion; transport fluid in another bottle and fill when ready to use as with the air flow vent; formula can leak. Another little habit...
...
